Service is fast, food is good, the decor is unique with hand carved tables and chairs. I eat here at least six times annually and I live 150 miles away!

Whenever I have friends or family visit, we always have to go to La Cocina Restaurant at least once. The menu selections are across the board to include tastes for steak, fish, mexican to name a few. I try something new every trip and have never been disappointed with a meal. The portions are large enough for me to take...

This place reminded me of good mexican restaurants in San antonio or Tex mex. The fajita I got was awesome. the portion could have fed 3 grown men. There was bell peppers and onions. It tasted very greasy. they didnt do anything special with the tortillas however. the service there was spotty. the waitress would disappear for long periods of...

I do not know how many times I passed this restaurant but on this last trip we had dinner here. This is basically a family restaurant with a mixed menu leaning heavily toward mexican dishes. We both were interested in the Ultimate Enchiladas, but it seemed like a lot of food, the waitress suggested that we split the dinner and...

Variety of menu choices were great. We chose prime rib, reasonably priced ,with large fresh salad, vegetables and potato. Awsome large sopapilla for dessert. Three separate dining areas made it quiet and cozy. Our waitress, Laura, was so friendly, service very efficient and she made us feel like guests in her home. When we enterred the restaurant we were greeted by...

There really isn't much choice for dinner in TrC so after checking reviews we settled on La Cocina as the lesser of the evils. My chicken fried steak & mashed potatoes with cream gravy was excellent, up there with the best I've ever had. DH had the chopped beef steak with brown gravy, which was only average. After he tasted...

Didn't realize their steaks were this great! They are known for their Mexican food but T-Bones were on special on this visit and it was advertised at 12-14 oz but was at least a pound! Seasoned and cooked to perfection, one of the best we've EVER had. Baked potato was loaded and just as good. This is quickly becoming our...

We dined at La Cocina after being unable to dine at another restaurant that closed suddenly due to kitchen problems, and we did not have access to Trip Advisor at that point, so we were flying blind. I am amazed by the reviews that gave La Cocina excellent or very good. Our experience was very bad. We were seated at...

The service was terrible & the food was worse. The fajitas had no flavor & I left almost the entire meal on the plate. The best thing about the experience was reading another yelp review and seeing the phrase, "find a local to pimp-slap you". Hilarious.
The red chile is authentic and hot. The service is always friendly and fast. There's a nice patio in the summertime, and cowboy art inside. I had red chile cheese enchiladas with an egg, over-easy on top and it was as good as anywhere in Albuquerque (where I am from). I haven't tasted the green chile.
