Very good food (better than we expected), nice ambience, very good service. This is probably the best pub in Hudson.

My wife and I went to check it out. My wife had the mussel; large percentage were empty and the pieces were not in bottom of the pan. The chicken breast was small. The serving of mashed potatoes was twice the size of the chicken. Service was slow, about 45 minutes from placing the order to getting served. The dining...

Great atmosphere and good service. The fish and chips are perfect as are the short ribs. A really friendly village pub.
We love this place. It's our default restaurant in Hudson. The food is mostly great and the atmosphere to our liking. It's a good place just for drink at the bar, but when the weather is good you can head for the garden in the back and have a great meal al fresco. The fish and chips I had here...

Stopped by for lunch on an off season weekend, promptly seated, though just a few tables occupied. There were some unusual menu choices, and specials, but the soup was superb; and believe it or not, the potato latkes, on special daily menu, were amazingly good and at reasonable prices all with local color!
My wife and I spent a weekend in Hudson recently and Red Dot was on our list of places to try. We had the fried calamari, sirloin steak, and the fish and chips. All of the food was delicious and prepared well. Service was kind and attentive. The back garden area is really lovely as well. We ended up going...

It is worth driving into Hudson for the mussels in wine sauce. Soak up the sauce with the french fries or ask for some crusty bread. Yum.

Two in the party had salads as their...

Warm atmosphere, excellent service, delicious local cheese plate and nicely-done comfort food classics like chicken pot pie.
We stopped here for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful garden area. I had the Cod sandwich and my wife ordered the lentil soup. Both meals were fresh and a great value for large portions. Love to stop here again on our next trip to Hudson.
Just about everything you can ask for in a casual bistro format. Excellent drinks, good burgers, mussels, and fries, but most of all personality. Hudson has other restaurants that offer higher end menus, but without the character and value offered at the Red Dot. That's why so many return year after year.
