This past weekend was my third trip to this restaurant in the past three years. We were celebrating a wedding anniversary and we asked for the private room upstairs...seats about 8 people. Of course the selection of choice is the steak. I have had the filet, porterhouse & strip...all of them are very good. This restaurant is in an old... More

I'm always mystified by the glowing endorsements people give this place. Known for it's steaks, the one time I went (on someone else's dime), my steak was grisly, flavorless, and simply not pleasant. I love steaks. I would have been better off cooking my own. At least then it would have been seasoned with something other than butter on the... More

John Thomas is simply the best restaurant in the area. It is clearly 5 star. Yes, it is expensive so don't be surprised by a big bill. What you get for that money makes it worth it. Dry aged beef overseen by a certified chef, professionally trained staff and a top notch environment. If you want run of the mill... More

Went hear wile staying at La Tourelle. Best T bone iv ever had. $52 per steak, so not cheap. Sides around $10 each. 2 people with wine bottle and Bourbon $190. GREAT SERVICE. Worth it in my opinion.

I have been surprised by the somewhat negative reviews here. Friends and I love the porterhouse steaks at John Thomas. Yes it is pricey, but for a special meal if you crave great beef, this is it. I go once or twice a year. Food is consistently good. order the garlic mashed potatoes and the creamed spinach as sides!

The prime rib was very expensive and flavorless; but the lobster bisque was delicious and the atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely and the staff was courteous and helpful.

Been to John Thomas a few times and have to say the food is very consistent. Had porterhouse for 3 and it was perfect. Appetizers and sides were good. Service is excelllent. Very pricey but worth it.

My husband and i ate at the John Thomas Steakhouse for a romantic dinner. We were seated in the sunporch area. I started with the crab cocktail and it was the best crab dish I ever ate. The remoulade was light and fresh and there was a good amount of lump crab. My husband loved his lobster bisque. For our... More

The food was good, mostly steak, service was good. My big complaint was the noise level. We were a couple out for a date night and were seated right near two big tables. It was so noisy it was hard to hear each other talk.
