The food is delish. The place is bustling. Always a wait, so be prepared. I wish I lived closer, I'd go there all the time.

Had a great lunch here on our way up to Mohonk Mountain House. There were so many choices on the menu and EVERY plate coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. I had a special with eggs, black beans, cheese, potatoes, sour cream - so yummy. My husband had a huge burrito with bacon eggs and cheese. The pancakes looked... More

Finally had brunch here today. Usually a line out the door. Funky interior, fitting with the New Paltz vibe. I had a great Half Moon Rising - Grilled shrimp, avocado, tomatoes, black beans, cilantro & mozzarella topped with roasted red pepper salsa & sour cream for $9.95. Great ratio of flavors. Would order it again. My companion had an interesting... More

I admit I have a 'thing' for diners. In this time of upscale, nouvea, cuisine there is something primal, fundamental, in finding a place that is just what it is without pretense or ungainly aspirations. The Main Street Bistro is a perfect college town diner, exhibiting the uniqueness of being in New Paltz without straying from the fundamental responsibilities of... More

The food is pretty good, not excellent, but ok for a Sunday brunch. A bit greasy overall. We waited 30 minutes to be seated, which is fine on a week end, but once we were seated we waited 5 minutes to order and then we waited 45 minutes for our food. We even had to go ask for it since... More

We recently bought a vacation home in the area. Every time we drive by the place is jammed. We stopped to have a late lunch and were lucky to get a table. Food was fresh, delicious, inventive and we can't wait to go back to try breakfast.

We stopped by for breakfast on a Sunday and were blown away by the variety and inventiveness of the menu. The place has a funky college-town vibe with sophisticated food. We will absolutely be back.

We have friends who are vegan, and the menu has it all-vegetarian or juicy burgers, salads or sliders. You might even see a celebrity or two dining at the counter, just blending in.

A great spot in New Paltz area for breakfast. Ranked for years as the best breakfast in Hudson Valley. And this is true! Excellent food and service. South of the Border - a must! Nice modern decor and ambience. Successful invasion of mexican cousine into classic New York State Breakfast tradition.

The Main St Bistro is an institution of food in New Platz. Breakfast and lunch is amazing and the menu covers a wide variety of palates. If you are a meat eater or vegan you will find something on this menu that will excite your taste buds. If you are stuck on the menu try the Trailblazer for breakfast or... More
