My husband and I went here to check it out, after all the positive reviews I have been reading. This place was gross! We went to the bar area on a Saturday early evening. After see the drink menu which specialized in $13 uninventive cocktails, we both opted for a beer. But i wish I hadn't after seeing the way bar... More

Really great dinner in the dining room, excellent wait staff. Awesome Natural Beef Braised Short Rib Gratinee with an excellent portion, enough that I was unable to finish. Took a doggy bag and left it in the hotel frig, Boo-Hoo! Big disappointment, it was that good! My date had the hangar steak and also enjoyed it. Will definitely return!

Had this on my "to visit" list for a few years. Finally went in July 2011....and I was NOT disappointed. Returned in Oct 2012. YUMM!!!!! Everything was appealing; from the atmosphere, the the plating, to the taste of everything served. I had the Ahi Tuna, husband had a steak. Delish! Pleasing wine list as well.

If there is a special occassion we end up at Terrapin. Excellent food, service and setting in a renovated chuch for the main dinning room. The bar is a bistro that is very funky not out of place in any cool city like NYC, Paris or SF.

I went here for dinner approx 5 years ago. Had a great meal back then so went back this past weekend. It's like the place is stuck in a time warp. The rugs, decor are down-right shabby. My chair had stains all over the seat...and I noticed so did many others. Service was pretty bad...considering we were there at 7pm... More

My wife and I ate at Terrapin during restaurant week. I am only sorry that I haven't tried them prior. The menu choices were plentiful giving vegie lovers a wide variety. Our meals were prepared extremely well and very tasty. The service was delightful and overall experience great. We will be back. Don't hesitate to eat here.

Looked on Trip Advisor to see tips for restaurants in Rhinebeck. When we got there we just asked someone. She recommended the Terrapin. Today we went for lunch and the experience and the food were really very very good. Both of our meals were very tasty. The only negative is that we paid $34 for lunch. Overall an excellent experience.

We ate here during Hudson Valley week, As we were a party of 8, it could have taken a long time to serve us, but I felt that the service time was reasonable. The restaurant was not crowded and we got a nice table were we didn't feel crowded. We got a few appetizers and a selection of meals that... More

The restaurant is divided into 2 areas in an old Church Building, one part is a Red Bistro Bar which does serve an excellent Chicken Parmagiana and other very good items well made, cheerfully served and also very tasty. The other side of the old church building is the dining room with a separate menu and an excellent wine list.... More

We had excellent drinks and warm gougeres with them, then we both had leek and mushroom potstickers- about 6- very tasty appetizers. We tried the Seitan entrees for a change- who knew Seitan could be so good! It had mashed potatoes and Bol choi with it- both deliciously prepared. The portions were large, so we had no room for the... More
