I went for breakfast and had "egg toast" -- two slices of toast with an over-easy egg in a cutout hole. Tasty, though I like the eggs a little less cooked. Came with a lovely fruit cup (pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew, blueberries, raspberries) and so-so (soft) potato homefries with green and red peppers for less than $10. Tasty, filling, straightforward food.... More

I often eat at Bread Alone, but the one in Rhinebeck is a cut above the other two locations. Not that the other locations are not good- this one is just a little better

Not only is the coffee great , the pastries and food superb, but the crowd that hangs there is the best entertainment north of Broadway . Go there and say hello to them .

This is a great local bakery with awesome bread choices. They make a fun hot chocolate too. Breads are hearty and delicious.

Contrary to its name, this is much more than "bread alone." You can stop in to buy a loaf of their delicious bread or a yummy pastry, but you can also sit down in the cafe to enjoy homemade soups and sandwiches. A great place for lunch, and very family-friendly.

Went to have a cup a soup but a small cup starts at $5. Yes the bread is home made and country style but I think there are better places for the money to have lunch in Rhinebeck. Like Arielle or Terrapin

We went for breakfast in the dining room and the food was really good. Our Bard student loves the place. Service was average. Front bakery was very busy but we had a peaceful meal in the dining room. :)

I wanted to try their bread out for the longest time . OK I finally get the opportunity & the bread had a QUARTER Sized Lump of Unmixed Unsifted FLOUR.. how does this slip thru? either way I cut this part of it out and disposed .. overall I will stick to Deising's Breads made resh every day without issue.... Bread Alone is our family favorite. Their breads are great, but also taste their Paris Apple Tart. Also yummy are their scones and muffins.

As I'm not a big fan of breakfast pastries I won't comment on going to Bread Alone for coffee and danish, but I do think its a fine spot for a quick, simple breakfast in the back dining room. The omelets and french toast are good, and priced right. We've gone several times and service was consistently good, and the... More
