Celebrating Graduation weekend so place was very busy. Beautiful setting up on the mountain, very relaxing (but drink accordingly - it's a fun ride down) Enjoyed the Mixed Grill app - ostrich, bison, sausages and the Charcuterie platter - duck rillettes were wonderful and the star of the show was the Rabbit Liver Mush. YUM Grilled Escarole Salad was a... More

Everytime we're in Boone we drive by this place 2-3 times. We always thought it would be too country club and overpriced --but it was our 25ht wedding anniversary and we wanted to splurge. While they do attract a well-heeled clientele--we were treated with courtesy and had a great evening. The decor is great, our server was friendly, knowledgeable and she... More

The atmosphere walking in the restaurant is relaxing and warm. It is very rustic which suits the menu well. The menu contained dishes not ordinarily found in restaurants - e.g. mallard duck and ostrich. The sides paired with the main dishes went together perfectly. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special night out and for a change.

Overall lovely meal. We started with the oyster appetizer. The oysters were perfectly cooked and the flavor combination was spot on. However the presentation lacked any creativity and frankly was visually unappealing. Next we had the grilled escarole salad and the spinach salad. Escarole was quite a hit--flavorful and delightful. The spinach salad was underwhelming--not bad but very basic lacking... More

We had a fabulous dinner with interesting choices. Met interesting folks sitting next to us and enjoy dessert - a wonderful bread pudding that we shared. Great service as well. Loved it. Didn't dislike anything.

As I have said in my other reviews, we have a vacation home on Sugar Mountain and make the trip up there often. Over the years we have tried many many restaurants in the Hight Country and we are always looking for new dining experiences. We have heard a lot of hype about Gamekeeper, so we decided to try it... I have been here hand full of times and I have NEVER been disappointed including my most recent visit on NYE. I like the addition of molecular gastronomy to the menu... I mean the combo of wild game with nitro lemon drop or honey or pureed root soup/salad concoction and champagne jello shots= AWESOME! I also like that they are... More

We've heard rave reviews about the Gamekeeper for years and finally made it there. Overall, an outstanding experience. We had martinis at the bar upon arriving that were excellent. The bartender was very engaging and friendly. The atmosphere was fantastic as was the service. Our appetizer and meals were all great. We knew going here it was going to be... More

The atmosphere was very nice and the service was great. My husband and I both thought the food was a bit over priced. We probably will not go back
