What an amazing experience. First, the Carolina Inn is gorgeous, the epitome of Southern Charm. And Carolina Crossroads itself, equally amazing. The dining room is small and intimate, but liked that the tables were far enough apart to provide a sense of privacy. The service was perfect. Attentive, friendly but not overbearing. The food, absolutely fabulous. Between my husband and... More

My husband and I recently had an anniversary dinner and chose Carolina Crossroads for our celebration. We expected a first rate meal and what we got exceeded our expectations. The service was impeccable, the wine was paired well with the food and we both agreed that the meal was without equal in our experience. We got fried oysters for a... More

We were visiting the area for a probable job transferable from the Northeast and decided to eat here, for our "fancy night out". From the moment we arrived at the Inn, we knew that we were in for a great experience. This is a beautiful, historical building, set in the heart of the campus of UNC. The restaurant is decorated... The atmosphere and the table setting for tea was beautiful, and a wonderful respite on a hot afternoon. The food was average, although the look and presentation was excellent. Will try again for dinner

You can find the best of Southern Cooking with a sophisticated flair. Delicious fresh seafood. Scrumpous desserts. Perfect place to go in the Carolina Inn. Great tradition.

This was our 2nd visit to Carolina Crossroads - the first being for dinner, and this trip was for lunch. We chose to celebrate a birthday here for our son turning 13. The menu is delightfully eclectic, with wide-variety of choices. From shrimp & grits - superb! - to chicken pot pie, with a crust of homemade biscuits. The service... More

Met for a quick drink at the Bar in the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill. Very good service and tasty gin and tonics - perfectly made drinks. The bar is small - but very quaint and tastefully decorated. It also had the feel of a faculty club and I could imagine professors smoking pipes in tweed jackets back in the... More

A really smart place, with inventive Southern food, lots of flair. Yes, it's a bit traditional but it gives a taste of the Southern refinement. We had superb crab cakes, grits, a burger with egg, great salads. The adjacent bar (with a wonderful terrace In Spring and summer) is very civilised, and you can order the restaurant food there. The... More

The food was imaginative and very well prepared. The service was impeccable, albeit a tiny bit stiff. The pace of service was perfect. I would definitely go back again!

Over the past eight years we have eaten at the Crossroads on many occasions for lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch. We believed that the restaurant had lost its previous luster over that period. However, after learning that James Clark, the former executive chef at the Marina Hotel in Myrtle Beach, SC, had moved to the Carolina Crossroads, we had to... More
