Nana's is my favorite restaurant in Durham, and that is saying a lot in this foodie town. Dishes are creative, delicious, and relatively healthy. Service is special.

There is nothing on this menu that isn't fantastic! Our group was large enough that we got to sample over 2/3 of the offerings, and it was all fantastic. The chicken liver pate, wild boar and guinea hen were my personal favorites, but the risotto and garlic soup were both outstanding as well. Their wine pairings are excellent, and the...

Had a memorable meal last evening at Nana's. We arrived earlier than our party, so we waited at the bar. The bartender was very helpful, giving us a menu to look over and offering some recommendations. My appetizer was his choice, and it was excellent. Asparagus over lump crabmeat. Others in my party had grilled romaine with poached egg, also...

I have never felt more unwelcome at a restaurant in Durham in the 20+ years we have lived here. I wanted a special dinner for my birthday and we had talked for years about going to Nana's because we had heard so many great things. I tried to make a reservation, but could only get wait listed for Saturday night....

Ok restaurant, but very overrated. Waitstaff was friendly, but clearly not trained on how to serve at a supposedly upscale restaurant. For example, we had to ask several times for bread and water (a joke somewhere in there), they brought our main course well before any of us had finished our first course, etc.
Food was ok, but this is...

Nana's service is crisp smart and efficient. The food is superb and special, (cioppino, truffeled pate, duck breast, for example) commands a large and faithfull following, rightfully so. We were surprised that the bread served was aged and not up to snuff. The butter, however was quite good and unusually plentiful. Want to go back and try the tasting menu.
I have heard such great things about Nana's so was excited when I finally got a chance to go. The food was good and the hostess was quick, nice and attentive both when I made my reservation and when we showed up HOWEVER I have never encountered such a rude waiter in my entire life. First off, he insisted that...

I try to visit Nanna's whenever in Durham. A recent visit reconfirmed that it is one of those few places that delivers excellence with consistency. One of the few places I will order seafood and can count on a perfect meal. They easily handled a group of 6 and everyone enjoyed their meal.
Nana's 's is extraordinary, top to bottom. The owner-chef's classic training and wide experience is evident and so is his commitment to the very finest ingredients, execution and presentation, and the staff could not possibly be more warm and knowledgable, or more gracious hosts. The tasting menu with wine flights was as fine a meal as we've enjoyed anywhere in...

I've never been disappointed with the food or service. Fine dining absolutely but not stiff or stuffy. Very warm and inviting. Beautiful local artwork fills the walls. Also a small, casual bar area where you can dine.
