Beautiful old building. Great atmosphere and fast good service. Have Fat Tire on tap - my favorite Colorado beer. The brisket and BBQ sauce are to die for. I will be back!!

Hello, I just want to say if your looking for a great place to stop in lumberton this is it. First off the atmosphere was pleasing and laid back, our waitress was very kind and attentive. I ordered ribs and my wife got the chicken.. The blueberry bbq sauce on the ribs made my mouth water just from being in... More

Full disclosure I live in the community and for travelers who are looking for something local and not a national brand then checkout Candy Sue's Downtown. Best nights are Wed thru Sat -each evening there are specials-there is bar that has entertainment some nights along with Karoke after nine. Get a Cheese biscuit and ask to meet Kevin or Susan.... We picked Candy Sue's after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn off I-95 and Candy Sue's was about 2 miles away into downtown. Food was great. Appetizers are really big so if you want to sample a few things that is the way to go. Fried Green Tomatoes were so good and so were the... More

This place was good to stop for dinner in travels down 95. Th town itself is desolate, a little hard to find, but good atmosphere once inside. Hostess could have been a little friendlier unless we were cranky from long drive....but food was great. They were out of the one item my husband really wanted which was a letdown but... More

On the way to Hilton Head we stopped for the night in Lumberton, N.C. (right off Rt. 95) Eager to avoid a chain, we found ourselves in the new location of Candy Sue's in a renovated warehouse downtown. The setting was great, the waitress charming and the food absolutely memorable for us New Englanders. The potato skins, stuffed with barbecue... More

Had booked an overnight stay in Lumberton and looked on Tripadvisor for dining suggestions. Tripadvisor reviewers got it right. This place is great. We stopped on a Tuesday night when the cafeteria was an option. Tried the butt, smoked brisket, collards, onion cobbler. All were exceptionally good. Susan and Kevin couldn't have been nicer. We got a tour and a... More

Just had dinner on our way north. Fabulous. Had the ribs and the butt. Both were fantastic as was the onion cobbler. Topped it off with fried cheesecake. OMG! The manager, hostess, and wait staff made us feel like one of the regulars. We will make this our dinner place every time we are traveling on I-95 in North Carolina.

On our way back from Florida, we went to Candy Sue's after reading about it on Tripadvisor. It more than lived up to our expectations. Sue welcomed us at the door and later gave us a tour of the historic building she has renovated and made into a delightful space. Her son, Kevin, introduced my husband to some local beers... More
