I'm not sushi guy but like Japanese food otherwise. This place really should just focus on the Sushi. It looked great and table-mates said it was great. I got steak with teriaki sauce. poorly cooked and on 2nd attempt was still flavorless. even the from-the-bottle flavor of teryiaki glaze didn't help. Others who got steak in their meals as hibachi... Stopped here for appetizers while visiting North Hills. Had the Firecracker shrimp which were pretty good and some wontons, which were excellent. The restaurant has nice soft lighting and a neat sushi bar where you can watch the action. Service was good and they had special prices on the appetizers on Wednesday night.

Mura offers a lively, but not too noisy modern bar to meet friends. As you move into the main dining room, you'll notice the pleasant hum of conversations, amidst the constant movement of sushi being served by a friendly & competent wait staff. Our group appreciated the choice of a table or booth. We ordered a favorite shrimp tempura appetizer... More

Really good sushi needs no adornment - high quality fish speaks for itself. So a plate covered in orchids, parsely, carved radish windmills and a veritable mount fuji of really nasty fake wasabi rang alarm bells even before i managed to find the sushi under all that camouflage! The sushi wasnt bad, it just wasnt very good and for a... More

Mura is my favorite sushi restaurant in Raleigh. I eat here several times a month. My favorite roll is "Sin City." When available, the Tasmanian Salmon is incredible and best eaten as nigiri or shashimi.

Tried this place on a business trip as it was right outside the hotel. I tried the miso soup, a sushi roll and grilled salmon. Food was excellent overall. Just a couple of minor comments. Miso soup could have been hotter and the salmon was slightly overlooked. Overall the flavors and presentation were excellent. Salmon was served with sides of... More

My date and I hit Mura tonight for Sushi, Sashimi and Kobe Beef Short Ribs! We also had some delicious drinks: Sour Pear and Pomegranate martinis. Everything was delicious. I did not care for the small table we were seated at and would rather have had a booth but hey, it worked out! My date also had the chocolate cheesecake... More

Bento box with salmon was outrageous!! More than I could finish. Everything was coked perfectly. Located in upscale outdoor mall so it's nice to walk around before or after the meal.

I had been to Mura before and had one of their specialty rolls. I thought it was average. But this time was unacceptable. I went there to eat lunch with a friend. The waiter did a poor job of explaining the menu to us, so what I ended up with was not what I expected. I ordered the lunch special.... More
