i got a suggestion from an article in a newspaper - la presse. we had a very nice dinner. we loved the atmosphere. the food was very good, and the service casual and efficient.
We nearly had given up on the idea of finding some decent lunch when we came across this place. It is located in an interesting and nice building and there is even a lovely souvenir shop in the same building. The staff is friendly but a bit slow. The menu is varied and both paninis that we had were delicious.... More
First of all this restaurant is not in the town "Gaspe." It is at least 30 minutes away from Gaspe but situated at a beautiful village named "L'Anse-au-Griffon." The term Gaspe for the town and Gaspe peninsula is confusing (please refer to notes I made for Gaspe background). - Yes, this is the best in this particular village of Griffon... More
Was here for dinner on our trip around the Gaspe. We are vegetarians which can be a bit of a challenge in this part of Quebec where pizza and salad are often the only things available. We stopped here on the recommendation of the information person at the Florillion info facility. We were not disappointed. Our french is a bit... More
Lots of seafood, local food, polite service, fantastic view, local beers, art gallery, good music. What more could be said? If you are looking for poutine, this is not the place.
I spend summers in the area and find myself at Café de l'Anse a lot, for their popular brunch in a lively atmosphere, for a late lunch and a quiet drink on the patio while admiring the beautiful view or during their dinners. The menu strives to feature many local products and the service is friendly. This place is a... More
What a wonderful find. Great food with a very varied menu. Had the salmon cake and it was delicious. The restaurant is one of a few in the area and was packed the night we were there. A small gift shop and art gallery are attached, take a look some great buys.
We were driving along the north shore following the artist tour and happened to come across this restaurant. We were very glad we did! We decided to take advantage of the nice weather and eat on the patio. One of the few patios that did NOT allow smoking on it which was perfect for us. We decided to try the... More
A really nice cafe that is open all day in the summer. It forms part of a community centre which is a restored fish refridgerator storage. No fish small left and great decor and mostly attentive staff. The menu consists of an interesting variety of foods, including local specialities for fairly reasonable prices.
