Every time I pass through Shelby, its a must for us to stop and get a plate of BBQ. Everyone there is very friendly and the quality has never changed over the past 10 years I have been going. Always good!

Tasty 'que here flawed by egg-carton-like pressed paper "trays", a limited menu, only one sauce choice, canned soft drinks (fountain tastes better) and prices that are a touch on the high side for such simple fare.
If you love Carolina BBQ, swing out to Shelby, NC and stop at Red Bridges BBQ "Lodge"! I almost crashed my car when I drove by this cool old 1950s BBQ joint- cuz I couldn't take my eyes off the place! I went in on a Sunday late morning- got there just before the local churches released their parishioners. The...

We've enjoyed BBQ meals here several times on our way to Charlotte. The BBQ is very good. Our son loves the hushpuppies (actually we all do) and the sweet tea. I really like the red vinegar based bbq coleslaw. When you step into Bridges it's like stepping into the family's home...lots of family pictures. The restaurant is extremely clean. Service...

The good reviews are inaccurate. This location is absolutely the worst place I have ever eaten at. Save you money and go buy a loaf of bread and a pack of ham
we have been going to Bridges BBQ on US 74 Hwy for about a year now. The BBq is sooo good and we love the hushpuppies, they are bigger than one would expect, so don't let that fool you because they are delicious and the service is good with friendly staff. We drive about 30 miles from Rutherfordton and it...

Excellent quality; good service; friendly staff. It is classic barbecue and an institution in the area. If you are a late eater, they close at 8 PM, so go early.
I was on my way to Asheville and stopped here for lunch. The place itself is a piece of history. Old typical american diner. Very good. The sweet tea was delicious and the pork plate was enormous. The hush puppies were also very good.
This is the same business as Red's BBQ Lodge reviewed separately. It's the #1 venue for BBQ in a region that thrives on this pork dish of the gods, surely.
Not as good as Alston's BBQ in Shelby. Red's BBQ has much more fat left in it. The sweet iced tea, hushpuppies, slaw and sauce is better at Alston Bridges' BBQ.
