Had excellent food on Tuesday and decided to go back on Thursday. Food and service was excellent each time. Atmosphere was also terriffic.
I actually ate at the Ironton location. The restaurant was highly recommended by a friend, but the food was at best ordinary, or worse bland. I think we would have been better off ordering pizza or calzones, but we went with pasta dishes because of the good reputation of the place. The pasta was way over cooked and the sauce... More
I spent a significant amount of time in Portsmouth in the 40s and 50s. Now we stop in every 2-4 years to visit family. This past Tuesday we dined at Melini Cucina and it was a great dining experience. Food was excellent, service was friendly & great and very pleasant decor. We travel in an RV and have dined in... I'm from out of town on business. I grew up in Boston and know what good italian food is. This has been one of the best in the area. I recommend it and their staff s very friendly - dont forget to ask for a doggy bag!

The server was slow, inattentive and did not know the menu. She did eventually come to check drink refills and the food,... More
For a small restaurant they give you a big taste. I had a calzone, and it was delicious. The serving size was great and so was the price. Don't let the outside fool you. It's what's inside that counts. Enjoy!
Small Restraunt with a nice bar, good atmosphere, fine for either date night or family - they had high chairs & a children's menu. Pretty decent selection on the menu, more than just your typical spaghetti & lasagna - tri-sauce ravioli was fantastic, and the sangria was awesome. Portion sizes just right, not ridiculously large - I liked that you... More
Having eaten at the Melini Cucina in Ironton, Ohio, and Grayson, Kentucky, I was looking forward to my first meal at the one in Portsmouth, Ohio, accompanied by my wife and an adult daughter. I loved the atmosphere and the decor, it is class compared to most other local restaurants. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful as she took... More
