That's not really a good thing. The food is average, but you do get a lot of it, so if you aren't starving, it's very easy to split a meal here. The prices aren't outrageous. I found the desserts lacking, though, which is a shame, because they have quite a few. Not a restaurant I would go out of my... More

Nice and comfy, pretty crowded. Almost too much food and the price is good. Great tried and true waitresses!

HUGE portions, good food, and reasonable prices, but it's very difficult to get a seat most days, especially weekends. I won't wait 20 to 30 minutes for a table.

We use this place whenever out of town company comes as it is easy to visit with each other and get decent food. The servers are always super nice. I love the volcano and usually share it with one of the kids, that way we have everything we like 2 diff meats and eggs and pancakes!! Great breakfast food. Haven't... More

I love a good breakfast. If you get here before 8:00AM, they have an early bird special. 2 eggs, two beacon (large), two sausages, and (a choice of 2 pancakes or hashbrowns). All for $4.99. They also have a great cornbeef hash. I have tried several of their omlettes and enjoyed them all. Large portions.Huge biscuts. Be prepared to wait... More

Any trip to Black Bear you'll find friendly service and well-prepared meals. This western chain features American, "country" food. As a vegetarian, I am somewhat challenged to find something on the menu that isn't breakfast. It would be prudent for them to offer some lower-fat and vegetarian options. That being said, I wouldn't miss their seasonal strawberry shortcake biscuit. It's so... More

We tried out the Black Bear Diner in Beaverton in hopes of finding great food and service. What we found was a restaurant that served bland food. Soggy and lukewarm friends, soggy steamed vegetables and a bland chicken friend steak, thanks mainly to the gravy. The tasty main had to be the steak, which was favorable. But the salad was... More

The restaurant was very full on a Wednesday late morning so I'd think that weekends must be a ... bear! We weren't greeted right away as the servers were busy at the tables but the wait was very short. The food came quickly and the portions were too big for us to finish and I had ordered off of the... Are you hungry? This place has a TON of great choices and serves breakfast all day. There is free coffee served outside if you have to wait. We have had the eggs, pancakes, French toast, sandwiches and salads-always great food and service with a smile. Sometimes there is a bear character around to entertain the kids! Great bread pudding, too.

I went to the Black Bear Diner in Madras and enjoyed my meal enough to try our local Black Bear Diner. The portions were still very generous, the food tasty and the pricing reasonable. I had the 7-grain pancakes (very yummy) and my husband had a burger. He felt they put too many grilled onions on it but enjoyed it... More
