Description: Nora's Table is a chef-driven restaurant in Hood River, Oregon, known for its farm-to-table ethic, a menu that changes daily, and award-winning Gorge wine list. The Oregonian newspaper gave the restaurant a rare A- and said "Nora's has turned the gorge from a geological statement into a cuisine." TripAdvisor rates it the Number One Hood River restaurant. Hood River is the center of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic area, and Oregon's second best-known wine scene, after the Willamette Valley. "Our menu is created almost entirely from the food shed around our iconic Mt. Hood. All our beef, lamb and pork come from our local ranches, and what our farmers bring us each day drives what goes on our menu," says chef and owner Kathy Watson. "Right down to our ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise, bread, pasta, crackers and pickles, it's all hand-made by our great crew. We love bringing the best of the Gorge to our plates."

We had dinner last night at Nora's, our first evening in Hood River. Stu, the chef's husband, explained the chef's philosophy of creating big internationally influenced flavors using as much of the local bounty as possible. The food did not disappoint. The duck legs in hoisin sauce with cucumber pickle were absolutely delicious. Rich duck meat practically falling off the... More

we had a great dinner, filled with lots of different flavors. the appetizer was smoked trout tostasda, is really smoked trout with avocado, and red cabbage..delicious, on a home made corn tortilla, just enough heat. we also had the lamb chops..got mixed reviews..had to be sent back..fairly raw, but tasty. the roasted cauliflower, with white bean puree fried currants and... We have enjoyed several fine dinners at Nora's. Now that they are open for breakfast, we checked it out. The menu lists about a dozen main courses with some options and sides. Prices are from $6 to 11 -- special food at normal prices. And they invite you to bring your special coffee drink from a nearby expresso shop. Very... More

Nora's specializes in Sea Food but has very good Salads and meats. Smallish restaurant the fills early. After dinner swing around the corner for Mike's Ice Cream.

Thanks, Bob! We choose fish from only sustainable sources, especially from the Pacific. Right now, we have fresh halibut cheeks! And isn't an ice cream at Mike's the best way to end a day? More

Highly recommend this restaurant. Creative and tasty meals.....fish, beef, pasta. often fun appetizers. you can have a great hamburger here....or a fish entree....or steak. value is very good...a great hamburger is little more than any other sit down restaurant. very nice wines available. nice decor, quiet. you will be happy you tried this spot.

We are really proud of our burger too! We grind our own burger, make our own buns, our own ketchup, mustard and mayo. And our own pickles, too. Totally fresh! We look forward to seeing you soon. More

The food is northwest/regional emphasizing quality, local ingredients prepared and presented in the northwest tradition of simplicity and comfort. It's downtown location makes this an easy spot for dinning amidst shopping. Prices are a little above the norm but the food prep, unique menu and ambience make it worth a stop.

Thanks for your review! We want our guests to know that even though we're downtown, there is a city lot just across the street from us. It is reserved during weekdays, but free to all on the weekend. And weekdays, there are plenty of metered spots all around the restaurant. More

Nora's was highly recommended and was a major disappointment. The food ranged from marginal to acceptable. However, compared to the service, it was outstanding. It is one thing being ignored; it is quite another to be insulted. Do the world a great service; pass Nora's by.

We had a late night dinner on a Friday night. Although we arrived really late they were very friendly and were happy to serve us. We decide to try several of there small plates/appetizers instead of a full size entree. We started with a wonderful appetizer with a wafer of pappadum, pork belly and a marinated carrot topping. It was... More

We love Indian flavors, and flavors from most cuisines south of the equator. Glad you enjoyed your dinner, and yes, we think sampling the menu through numerous small plates is a great way to experience what we are doing here. More

Everything is close to special at this small bistro, but I have rarely had some sumptuous homemade soups as prepared in the small kitichen......unusual combination of fresh ingredients put together in ahighly imaginative fashion. But the fish and meat dishes are equally outstanding. Everything prepared lovingly that clearly shows the influence of the owner-chef. Have been there several times now....perhaps... More

Glad you liked our soups! We try to keep in lock step with our farmers, creating soups from whatever they bring us for the week. This week we are serving a coconut pac choy soup with tat soi and peanuts and lime chili salsa. More

Nora's was one of my "go to" favorites here, starting back when it was called Nora's fish house. But my last three meals went from disappointing, to very distressing to down right bad. In Dec I tried my first burger there- which came very rare though I ordered med rare, with fries that were close to black although soft. And... More
