Description: Established in 1879, Huber's is Portland's Oldest Restaurant. It was originally called the "Bureau Saloon". Mr. Huber was involved from the beginning as a bartender, bought out the original owner then changed the name to Huber's. In the old days if you bought a drink you got a free turkey sandwich. This is how the turkey tradition started. Today Huber's cooks 150 lbs of turkey a day. It's Thanksgiving everyday at Huber's serving a traditional turkey dinner every day. We also serve Certified Angus Beef and fresh seafood. Huber's is also known for its famous Spanish Coffee. The drink is made table-side with great fanfare. It's is a lot of fun and very tasty. Come in and enjoy Old Portland at its best.

Granted we went on Mothers' day but the service was really terrible. We went early, 5:00 and the place was only half full so we thought it would be good service, but it wasn't. The building is lovely like many of the older buildings in Portland, the famous skylight in the bar is really a nice touch. The martini was... More

What a great place to have lunch -- especially if it is a warm, sunny day, which it was when we had lunch there. The outdoor tables are available in the sun or the shade; great for people watching while you eat. We had two of the turkey sandwiches -- apparently turkey is their specialty. They have a nice wine... More

The truth is, I have always went for the Spanish Coffee's. Between the presentation to the drink itself.. no one beats Huber's. I have not eaten here in a long time. But, from what I recall, the food was always good as well. Huber's has always been a starting point for me, when I am out on the town!

Excellent value for the money. I had a steak, very tasty but not the most tender. My colleagues had halibut and salmon and they were perfectly prepared. The highlight and the thing that makes Huber's worth a visit on its own is the renowned Spanish coffee, which is just awesome. The restaurant has a fairly good selection of local beers... More

OK, not really (inventing "Cool," I mean), but the place really is cool. I was torn between judging 4 or 5 stars on this but went with 4 only because the few food items my family had were fairly average, not bad, just not great. I would like to return and try a steak or something in the future. We... More

This place is known for its turkey. That part I dont know why. Their food is mediocre at best, not memorable. Oh, and the turkey is dry and tasteless maybe that is what some like in their palate-not me, however. Their drinks a healthy pour They are known for their Spanish coffee. It is good mot teriffic! Maybe return?

Do it old school! Have an open faced turkey sandwich, a Spanish coffee, and walk around this place. It's one of Portland's oldest bars. If you are lucky, one of the 4th generation family of owners might be there to give you a PDX history lesson to go with your coffee and sammie!

Portland's oldest restaurant ... if you haven't been, you need to go. The menu is pretty hearty for dinner, but be sure and stop by after dinner for Spanish coffees made table side with much finesse & flourish! Also, if you have non-coffee-drinkers, ask them to make the Spanish coffees with hot chocolate. It's an impressive show of flaming alcohol... More

Nice place for either turkey or a late night spanish coffee. James, the owner, is always very polite, and probably remembers your name from the last time you went there, like 10 years ago...
