I don't know if it was just a dinner special or if it was on the menu (it's been awhile), but I had the most amazing lobster ravioli with a nice glass (or two) of Chianti. MMMMMM!

Absolutely fabulous from the beginning to the end with great attention paid to every request. It began with the reservation, as they setup our table for six next to the fireplace as requested and was already aware of the need to sub out a course for the person with the fish allergy. The waiter and sommelier were attentive and informative,...

Don't know where to begin. Cold food, overpriced, slow impersonal service, and dishonest check practices! There is a reason why this restaurant has so few of reviews, but is highly rated. Most people have experienced one of the above and have chosen to quietly dine elsewhere. Too bad the new owners remodeled beautifully, but their new teams execution is sorely...

Genoa is perhaps Portland's oldest "great restaurant", it was the first foodie destination, started in the 1970s. I have been there several times over the years and was always under-whelmed. However, many friends revere it.
I know it sounds extremely obnoxious to compare a longtime Portland gem to NYC, but it's worth saying that Genoa, in food and service stacks up to all but the very best (and at Oregon prices). Genoa is famous in Portland for a reason. Amazing chef's menu changes regularly. The 5-course meal--if they are still doing that--will more than fill you up, so go when you are hungry! Expensive, but worth it!
My wife and I dined here with a couple of vegetarians. I veered slightly off track by selecting the sturgeon (thus making me a pescetarian for the day). The decor is lovely. The food and service were absolutely perfect! The vegetables were transcendent! The wine pairings, on the other hand, were underwhelming, and if I were to go again, I'd...

Perfect for birthdays and anniversaries. Fabulous food and atmosphere. The service is impeccable. Can't miss.
For many years the experience of the 7 course meal at Genoa is unmatched. Always different and flavorful. Bring your wallet full or good credit card.
Genoa is something unique in Portland. They offer a five course fixed price menu ( $65)where the only choice is the main course ( between 2 options ) and desert. They also have a vegetarian option. I ate there recently with my wife and daughter and we all ordered the duck as our main. The waiter explained that these ducks...
