It's been a while since I've had such a fabulous meal. The service and cuisine were excellent. A very innovative and creative menu which does not leave you wanting anything else. I fully understand the name of the restaurant "Veritable Quandry" because when perusing the menu you are in a veritable quandry as to what to select because it all... More

My buddy and I visited here on our latest trip to Portland based on a friend's recommendation. We went here for Brunch on the weekend. The space and decor was awesome. We sat at the bar and had an amazing brunch. Everything we had was delicious, plus the cocktail and beer selection was great. The staff and service were also... More

When in downtown Portland, you should go. The place is usually jammed with locals and visitors and it's fairly small. But, there is a reason everyone goes there. It's always a wonder to me on why some places make it big, while so many don't. Here, it's the food (excellent), the people (cool, I guess), vibe and location. I highly... More

As we walked into VQ we were greeted by a friendly hostess and inviting bar scene. Our seating was indoors in a cozy corner just off the outdoor patio. We were all very pleased with our meals from start to finish and our server was top notch. I will definitely go back to VQ the next time I'm in Portland!

Apparently, this place has had the same owners for 42 years. It's with good reason that it's still around. Very friendly staff & a lively bar scene up front. I only tried a couple of the dishes here but they were very good. I came in here several nights for cocktails though, and they were very good too. There's a... More

My husband and I had dinner at VQ last Saturday night. When I made the reservation I asked if the kitchen could accommodate gluten free requests because I have celiac disease. I was assured there were items on the menu that would be GF but also that the kitchen would be happy to withhold ingredients containing gluten in other entrees.... More

We were visiting Portland (5 friends from Vancouver B.C.) and I had booked a table for us a week before, for May 8th. at 7:30 pm. We arrived on time and made our way up to the hostess station. She told me that there would be a short wait as the table was not ready and asked if we would... More

Needed to find a lovely and special spot to celebrate an achievement. Was seated outside during a perfect Portland spring day. Lunch was fantastic. Service was perfect.

It was amazing! I had booked this as a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday and the food and service was excellent. When I booked it weeks ago I said that it was my boyfriends birthday and they made a note of it. I fully expected them to not remember but they did! The hostess and our waitress were amazing and...
