It has been a long time since I was in Virginia's on King St., but we thought it would be nice to see if it was still the great place I had been before. What a wonderful choice. We sat at the bar (by choice) as we wanted to see the Preakness, and they have a big TV over there.... More

We made reservations for brunch on a Saturday because my husband wanted fried chicken during our visit to Charleston. We were seated right away and the restaurant was very clean and nice. The service was great and the food came out pretty quickly. We tried the crab-stuffed mushrooms, which were ok, but my shrimp and grits were AMAZING! The gravy... More

The food and ambiance here is delightful. My fiance and I were in Charleston for a weekend getaway and wanted to experience all the classic foods of the city. Virginia's was definitely a good choice for that. In one meal we were able to try she-crap soup, hoppin' john and shrimp and grits that were just incredible. Since my fiance... More

My husband and I had lunch at Virginia's on King on a mid-week day. There was no waiting, quick and courteous service and the food was very good and priced reasonably. It's in an old building that has a good atmosphere and lots of charm. We both had the buttermilk battered fried chicken breast and it was crunchy and delicious.... More

We discovered Virginia's on King as we walked along Marion Square and King Street. We ordered the stuffed flounder and fried catfish. The menu is simple and prices are reasonable for the portions that you get. My husband had squash casserole with the fried catfish. The casserole was a little dry but good. The cup of she-crab soup was delicious.... More

Great location on King St. and we were seated quickly on a Friday night. Decent wine list and really enjoyed the blackened catfish with collard greens and mac 'n cheese. Prices were reasonable and service was good.

I have been to Virginia's several times - each time I am rewarded with PHENOMENAL She Crab Soup. We badgered a couple who sat down next to us to try it - the wife got a cup - raved about and the hubby got a bowl - he agreed - awesome. The food there is very very good - would... More

This is a family run restaurant less that 5 minutes walk from the junction of King Street and Calhoun Street. We tried off chance on a Friday evening but was told it would be an hours wait. That to us was a good sign so we booked for the following evening. This restaurant attracts a lively crowd which makes it... More

Eat upstairs for a nicer setting. Downstairs is fine too. The service is decent. They have great sweet tea.
