Firehouse has the best BBQ, best sauce, best slaw, and best people.!! Gone often throughout the years. Just put that November was my last visit to prove how superb they are. My North Carolina husband and BBQ expert wanted this for Thanksgiving dinner. I was a little concerned about reheating, but their to-go boiling bag is fantastic. Tasted fresh-cooked and...

I like the atmosphere, set in an old fire house. The BB-Q is very good with its tomato base sauce. They Smoke there own meat, almost like pit smoked. Try it, very casual environment and not pricey.
You are likely to have a lengthy wait if you don't go early to this restaurant. A pleasant place, with good service and very good barbeque and sides. Don't worry, they have chicken and other food also. Don't expect a nice view outside, though. Another thing: If the hostess asks you if a table upstairs is okay, tell her no!...

This place was a staple of my childhood, growing up in East Tennessee. As a child, I was fascinated with the firehouse decor and the awesome restored fire truck in the parking lot. Over the past 30+ years, I've never not had a perfect experience at The Firehouse. The wait staff is always extremely friendly and the food is mouth-watering...

Must admit this isn't my favorite place for BBQ but it is good and you would not be disappointed in it I am sure.
You will not go wrong eating here!! Atmosphere and service were excellent, our waitress was very attentive to our needs and was as cute as a button!! We had ribs, chicken, beef and pulled pork which had just the right amount of smokey flavor. The Baked beans were to die for as we'll as the baked potato loaded with broccoli and...

The Firehouse is a Johnson City institution; it's been in business for over 30 years. It is a very popular lunch spot for local university professors, VA and Johnson City Medical Center employees. There is often a wait for lunch, especially on Fridays, so factor this into your time schedule. The barbeque comes in traditional or Carolina (more vinegary) style,...

The Firehouse Restaurant, located in an old firehouse, has been one of my favorite restaurants for over 25 years! They have great service, tasty pulled pork BBQ and great fries. The burgers are also good. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.
We ate at the Firehouse while in Johnson City for the weekend. It's good BBQ, and the prices are reasonable. The 4 of us had the pulled pork sandwich plate with sodas for around $40. The pork had a great smoked flavor and the BBQ sauces are also quite good. Would certainly eat there on another visit.
