Quite amazing to have an Iranian restaurant in a place like Aberfeldy. Very impressed with the food and very pleasant service. Only issue is they don't take cards.
Been to checheks a few times now and always forget to review so here goes. The owner, Matthew, is a delightful man - sometimes he has help in the restaurant but more often than not he is "head cook and bottlewasher" and what a fantastic job he does. If you want something a little different then try checheks. The food... More
Ate here on first night staying in Abereldy. The set starters and main to choose was good value and there was plenty choice on the menu. I had the Tabsi a vegetarian Lebanese stew with rice. Small, intimate restaurant with the owner manning the fort on his own. Quite bizarre in some ways but he managed it all well, managing... More
Visited on Saturday night and we were very pleased with the whole experience. The food is all home made and served with pride by the the owner. The fixed price starter plus any main course was great value and I would recommend this. Only problem was that the phone number posted on TA is wrong and we had to walk... More
Simon and I saw this little place in the square and decided to try it for dinner on a Friday night. Immediately we were greeted with a friendly welcome, seated, and had time to enjoy our surroundings before ordering. We ordered the Donner Kebab and Mixed Kebab; the food was very flavoursome. Price point was very reasonable. If you fancy... More
Went here with my partner for dinner as we weren't feeling the token local Indian (busy as it was). Instead we opted for Checheks. It's small and beautiful inside with an authentic Mediterranean vibe about it. When we were seated we realised that the waiter was also the chef! (He may well also.be the owner!) The service was brilliant, and... More
We went with our two little ones. Service was excellent! The owner of the restaurant made sure that we were comfortable, the kids were happy and the service was good. The food was okay, and being Asian ourselves we know a little something about Persian food. My only complaint would be the temperature in the restaurant. It wasn't heated! My... More
Went there with my husband and my daughter which she is extremely fussy but even she loved it we all had a mezeh and a beautiful main course which was a persian dish.I highly recommend it its soo unfortunate thats its in such a small town and I would definitely go back.
I went to Checheks when I was on holiday with my daughter and we were suggested to go here. It's a very warm, small, cozy place and you can feel it from the first step. The food was superb, service was pretty quick. Very, very good atmosphere with the ethnical music and the owner's warm service. I really felt at... More
Took my hubby out for a birthday meal, and found this hidden gem in Aberfeldy. We were the only ones in initially, but a few customers came in later, including some obviously local, and well-kent faces. Beautifully homely yet exotic with such a nice, comfortable ambiance. The owner was so friendly and couldn't have been nicer. He recommended food we'd never... More
