We eat at The Coach House on a regular basis and although it is a little 'Fawlty Towers-ish' (those who have eaten there will know what I mean!) it is a delightful little restaurant with a lovely flower filled courtyard away from the hustle and bustle of the town. A family business, run by Derek and Sandra and a handful... More

Definitely worth a visit for lunch if you're in town. Original menu, cooked well, prompt service, friendly staff. Will be returning soon.

The menu was very ordinary for a lunchtime and no particular surprises. I had a jacket potato with ham and mustard. It would have been nice with some butter on it. The sliced ham was tasty but the mustard mayonnaise had obviously been used before and put me off a little. The crockery could do with a good bleaching with... More

Hidden away behind the Kings Head it's one of those places the locals seem to love to keep to themselves. Fantastic food and service. The owners are actively involved in the resturant and this shows in the level of service. Do yourself a favour and get in there for a meal!!

This restaurant\cafe is a few yards off the main street and therefore can easily be missed. The service is attentive but unobtrusive. No pretentious rubbish like frogs legs in caramel just honest well cooked meals. Understand from the owner that only locally sourced ingredients are used and this was reflected in the taste. I opted for the home made fishcakes... More

Our family, travelling from Birmingham and South Wales, has met up at the Coach House on three occasions and has been very happy each time with the food and service. The welcome has been warm for both adults and children and, having previously tried other Monmouth pubs and restaurants, this is now our preferred place to get together.

Best to book for Sunday Lunch, so popular but they will try and squeeze you in. The pate is an excellant start. Lamb and Beef to kill for!!!!! If you can fit in a dessert, Lemon posset a good bet for a pud. Fantastic.

My parents have lived in monmouth for over 20 years and I grew up here, they are regulars to the coach house and when I visit we have been several times for sunday lunch. There is a good enough choice and you can chose how many courses you have. Service can be a little chaotic but adds to the charm... More

Despite a rather Fawlty Towers atmosphere and a couple of minor mistakes (all resolved), this was a pleasant enough meal. Service was a little on the slow side, but the staff worked hard to rectify it - one of the kitchen staff appearing at one point to deliver food to another table. There was a reasonable choice and my fish... More

As a recent resident in Monmouth I was so pleased to discover the coach house s couple of months ago and have since proudly taken visitors on their stays with us to enjoy the traditional food and fabulous service. This isn't over the top fancy food (there are mitchlin star restaurants locally who will happily take your money for that)... More
