Wonderful wines, great food, and stunning architecture. A must see in Texas Hill country 25 miles from Austin.

Some friends of ours invited us to join them for dinner at Mandola's last night. It is located way out in the country near Driftwood, TX, but I I have to say that you get the feeling that you're on an Italian estate. The restaurant itself is a really, really pleasant place...lots of windows overlooking the vineyards. The service was... More

My wife and I LOVED this place. The atmosphere and staff were great. The italian restaurant was delicious but we only had the anti-pasti and gelato. The wine was good. And the only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because the outdoor seating was limited.

Service is impeccable! Beautiful ambiance. Food, well it couldn't get any better. Minuses: Can be very loud (concrete floors, large room); Kinda pricy. A wonderful place for that "special night out".

First of all, Mandola Winery is no more. As of July 2010 the name was changed to Duchman Family Winery. Established in 2004 and co-owned by doctors Lisa and Scott Duchman, and the Mandola family (think Mandola Italian restaurant and deli in Austin) as partners, the winery originally had the Mandola Family Estate name on the marquis. In the last... More

I really liked this winery when Mandola owned it. I went to the winery and restaurant last week and though the restaurant is still awesome the winery has has lost its touch. The staff seemed lackluster and not interested to be there. The tasting room was bare except for the counter. Under the former owners the room was warm and... More

Mandola's is now called Duchman (pronounced duke-man) Family Winery. They have a great selection of whites and a smaller selection of reds. We did the 10 tastings for $9. Then we bought 6 bottles of wine (with a 10% discount) to take home with us. The staff were young and full of energy. They were very knowledgeable and eager to... More

The Mandola Winery, set in vineyards in the hills southwest of Austin, has both a tasting room and a restaurant and the wine and food are worth the drive from Austin. The tasting room allows you to sample the Mandola-produced wines (generally from grapes near Lubbock). The restaurant also has a good wine list, in addition to the Mandola wines.... More
