The tasteless food is underlined by the mediocre service. This overpriced place must rely on its location to stay in business. Pass it up for any of the other places near the theatre.
We've dined at Artista several times in the past before catching a play at the Hobby Center. The restaurant is elegant and food is good. Not great but ok. The portions are small though and overpriced in my opinion. There are so many other good places in Downtown Houston to chose from, in my opinion. Reef restaurant, Vic & Anthonys... More
We frequently eat here prior to shows, & we love this restaurant. The churrasco steak is wonderful & can be cut with a spoon. I also enjoy the breaded chicken topped with cheese. Today I ordered the seafood platter with snapper, lobster, scallops, & shrimp. It was amazing. The tres leche cake & chocolate cake are two of the best... More
I had not been to Artista in a few years, mainly because of the kind of reviews that have been previously written. Last night was an unexpected pleasure. I was able to get a last minute reservation by calling direct ( Open Table had said no room). Our server, Eran, was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. All the 4 courses... More
Great concept based on the Churrascos chain. Unfortunately, the menu is quite tired for theater season subscribers especially when you can recite the specials.
I went here because it was before Book of Mormon. Food was good. Very expensive for what you get. Also, the staff needs to tell you that you can't bring doggy bags into the theater. Probably go some other place next time and walk over to the theater.
My partner and I ate here prior to going to see the production Priscilla Queen of The Desert musical at Theater Under The Stars. We had a terrific booth in the back, which had windows on all sides with beautiful views of down town. Everyone was very polite and professional. The wait staff were very courteous and the food was... More
I went to a private event at Artista, and the food and service were fantastic! I had the salmon, which was cooked to perfection! The waiters were very attentive and friendly, and the ambience was great. I had the tres leches for dessert, which was tasty and hit the spot after a great meal. Overall, it was a great choice!... We were there pre theatre and the place was packed. I know it must be difficult to turn over 2/3 of the restaurant in about 90 minutes but they need to figure out how to do it and soon! We have been 20+ year customers of the Cordua family restaurants. Artista is so unique and so convenient to the Hobby... More
We always dine here if going to a show at the Hobby Center because of the convenience. It is also a lovely restaurant although they have now added too many tables and it is crowded and much louder than it used to be. We dined there before a show and had a bottle of wine, two salads, two fish, two... More
