The food is really tasty and very affordable. Although Baris is away from the university it is very much a college hang out so expect to see some youngsters. It is also a BYOB restaurant. But you will find families and older folks there also. Parking can be tight because they don't have a lot of spaces and the restaurant... More

I have eaten here several times, sometimes you have to wait but it is worth it. Pizzas are so good, bread is to die for. This is a regular stop when we come to Waco. It is a BYOB restaurant so no bar but hey much cheaper. They accomodated our large party when we made a reservation, not sure if... More

If you're looking for some good Italian food with a local flair, definitely give Baris a shot. They have a very large menu with a variety of pasta dishes and a pretty decent pizza variety as well. We had a variety of different dishes amongst the group, from baked pastas, pizzas, and calzones. The pasta was excellent. Everybody said the... More

We decided to stop here on our way to Dallas with the hopes of finding a "hidden gem". Don't be misled by all of the rave reviews. It may be "the best in town;" since I am not from Waco, I cannot refute this statement. However the house special pizza we had was average and the service was slow. We... More

We liked everything about this place. Food was unbelivably good and the prices were like we had gone back in time. $20 for a large salad which we split and two pasta entrees. And it's BYOB fo we enjoyed a nice Chianti which we brought with us. Rosa our waitress was a well-polished server who made our visit that much... More

Oh, how I love this place. It is definitely a place locals love but in no way fancy. It is my favorite Italian food restaurant of all time (tho' I have never been to Italy) and Mama Baris who runs the place is from Bari, Italy and keeps the food authentic. The red sauce is wonderfully flavorful and the complimentary... More

This isn't the best Italian in town, but for the price, it is. You can't eat fast food for $6 these days, but Baris is one of the best values you'll find anywhere

Two things you MUST try: 1) The "house dressing" which is a red marinara/balsamic vinagrette dressing. It comes in a squirt bottle and you make a puddle of it on your plate and drag a big pinch of the most delicious homemade yeast roll through it! and 2) ANY pasta with "pink" sauce on it! Our family loves the ziti... More

I didn't expect very good, Neapolitan style pizza in Waco, but found it here. The setting is spartan at best, but the food was surprisingly good.
