Sat outside for a burger, shake and fries at dinner time. Shake was asked for extra thick, came extra watery -- asked them to remake it, which they did, and it was a lot better.
Burger was supposed to be pink inside (their description), and it was well done, and partially burned on one side. Fries were good. Just wasn't...

Love this place! I'm not a huge burger person, so I didn't rush to this restaurant. When I finally relented and went with my son, I was amazed. First you select your meat - different sizes of beef, turkey and bison. You also choose between a bun or a bowl. Even the bowl has choices of different lettuce beds. Then...

My wife and I visited The Counter in Marina Del Rey, CA, and had an awesome and delicious experience there. Chains sometimes have inconsistent food or service delivery, especially as they expand with retail success. This is not the case with The Counter in Reston, VA. Dinner on a Saturday night is always packed, but definately worth the wait. The tuna burger wasn't what i was expecting, though my husband liked it. Their regular burgers are awesome but the best part of the entire experience - they have THE best sweet potato fries i've ever had. The dipping sauce that comes with it is addictive. Worth...

Kids have fun checking off with a pencil their own big list of toppings...burgers are yummy...also love the bison burger and veggie burger; full bar; small place so tables fill up quickly
It's hard to get a seat quickly at The Counter because it truly is great food.
We waited about 30 minutes, and it was well worth the wait. My friend ordered their special lamb burger, and I ordered the plain lamb burger because I wanted to taste every bit of the lamb....and it was cooked the way I wanted it...rare....

The restaurant serves traditional burgers and other food, as well as the untraditional (salmon burgers?). The food is good, but the place is walled in glass with no noise absorption. If you can catch in when it's not packed, it would be a very good experience. If packed, the food isn't good enough the justify the headache.
We stopped by about 1 pm on a Saturday. The place was humming, but we were lucky enough to get a table for two right away. The restaurant is small inside, but there was a pretty quick turnover of tables. It is quite noisy, so we wouldn't recommend it for a romantic date or anything like that! The waitstaff were...

Love their burgers and love all the great toppings you can add to them. This is hands down one of my favorite burger places. I think it is much better than the highly touted Arlington spot, "Ray's Hellburger".
