Description: Le Yaca began in a tiny, country village(Courchevel)in the French Alps in 1964.Daniele Bourderau & Gerard decided that it would be fun to open a small restaurant. When friends learned of their plans they told the hopeful restaurateurs that they were crazy to think that people would drive 8 kilometers on a winding, icy road for dinner.Daniele and Gerard hesitated for 3 months and then decided: “yaca le faire,” a contraction of the French phrase “ il n’y a qu’a le faire” which basically means “let’s do it.” They called the restaurant Le Yaca as a gag. But the name caught on with customers, who were amused by the pun and contributed to the restaurant’s lore by inventing “yaca-isms ” of their own: yaca y aller (let’s go). Daniele came to the United States & opened Le Yaca in Williamsburg.Daniel Abid bought le Yaca in 2001. Daniel worked and trained in such prestigious places as “Le Pre Catelan” and “Lenotre” in Paris; “L’Amandier” and “Roger Verge" and to top it all off “Alain Ducasse.”

Le Yaca is such a beautiful restaurant. The food and wine were outstanding not to mention the staff is very professional, friendly and accommodating. Had the tenderloin and it was a very generous portion and absolutely amazing! I highly recommend Le Yaca!!

By far the best French restaurant we have eaten at in a long time. Rivals NY City restaurants. The only bad point is its location - hard to find. BUT so worth finding. The atmosphere was conducive to a romantic dinner for two. For appys we had the escargot which was served sans shells in a luscious garlic butter sauce.... More

Since was one of top rated restaurants in Williamsburg we decided to try it. It didn't disappoint. They seated us 45 minutes early. Both the service and food were excellent. You'll need about two hours for dinner and of course, reservations to get in. S

Le Yaca has maintained high quality and standards of the years we have dined here. Very good food, with a three course prix fixe meal for $37. The owner is charming and ready to offer excellent wine selections. The also have an ala carte menu with reasonable prices, too.

We have been dining in Williamsburg for over 35 years and have seen many changes - from the authentic Colonial Williamsburg restaurants to the local Merchant Square cafe/bistro dining. This fabulous authentic French one in a shopping center was a pleasant change from the above. Service was attentive, wine list adequate and food sensational! Only criticism was we wish it... More

This is a fantastic restaurant to celebrate an event or hold a business dinner. I had a table of 5 and the services was wonderful. Everyone ordered seafood with the exception of myself. I had the twin filets. All seafood and sauces were wonderful and the filets were tender with excellent taste. I highly recommend the oysters as an appetizer... More

Today we celebrated the birthday of a dear friend. Once again we had an exceptional meal with superb service at Le Yaca. Our diners enjoyed the Crepe with lump crab meat and Swiss cheese in a Bechamel Sauce, the pork tenderloin (huge portion) over encrusted potatoes drizzled with a delicious sauce, and also the Scallops served over a bed of... Our son attends the College of William & Mary and every time we visit we have dinner at Le Yaca. It is an excellent French Restaurant which we enjoy every time. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, with a fireplace burning in the entry way in the winter. There are a number of rooms so it is relaxing and... More

Very briefly: this is the best restaurant I have found in Williamsburg. Excellent food, wonderful service, lovely atmosphere. No wonder they score so well. The price is higher than I usually pay, but I left feeling like I got a deal: everything I could want was included. No tricks, no up-sell, just a stellar dining experience. I have eaten here... More

Las Thursday, my wife and I dined at Le Yaca for the first time. We liked our dinner so much that we brought a friend back down from Richmond the next day for lunch, even though we had to drive in Pennsylvania that evening. As we walked in the door, the ambiance immediately felt great. Behind the receptionist was an... More
