I have always liked Asian noodles andI lived in Asia for four years where I experienced the real thing, not the American version of noodles. Hanazono is one of the best noodle shops I have ever experienced in the US and that include LA, NYC, Houston and other cities with large Asian populations. The staff was extremely pleasant and cheerfully... More

We thought we had tried all the restaurants in Port Townsend but on this last visit saw an Asian noodle house. We couldn't resist and kept our expectations low. We were delightfully surprised! The udon was wonderfully rich ( ask for the tempura on the side if you like it still crispy). The teriyaki chicken was great- although it had... More

I reviewed this restaurant in Dec. 2012 , and was very impressed then . I just went again on a cold Spring day . I was really cold, so I ordered a glass of plum wine sake , and the Nabeyaki Udon noodle soup . I was warm instantly for many reasons. I was reminded again what an incredible treat... More

Really enjoyed dinner at this bustling noodle shop. Seemed like it was filled with locals as many people were visiting with other tables. The friendly staff made good recommendations.

Very quaint eating area with about 10 tables . Located right in the center of the action on Taylor Street right next to the Rose Theatre. Right off of Water Street (main street ). The gourmet food is made with totally fresh ingredients..mainly soups. They have lots of Sake and sushi/sashimi as well. Excellent .

This is a fairly small, nice space. Warm and cozy on a cold, rainy December day. Service was fast considering that the dishes were all made fresh. They even have two different green teas to select from. They have a very large selection of soups and, yes, they have sushi, great sushi. The hardest part was choosing among the various... More

Nice meals next to the theatre. Good selection of asian dishes. Not much else if you don't like noodles etc, but very nice if you do.

Udon or soba or ramen. they have them all and sushi and sashimi and sake. Bento was excellent. Everything was fresh and the dining atmosphere was fantastic. I would lunch there regularly. Might have to move to Port Townsend first.

We visited Hanazono 2 years ago and were very excited to come back and try it again. The food is still great, especially the daily blackboard specials. As a vegetarian, I appreciate the wide variety of veggie items like the fantastic Zen roll and the Tofu Salad. Even if you think you do not like tofu, you have to try... More

I just ran into this little restaurant last week with two friends (one of whom is Japanese). We all ordered something different and all three of us were pleased. Prices are reasonable considering its a touristy town. In my tempura shrimp order were also tempura lotus root pieces which I had never had before....yummy.
