We ate a meal - burgers (I had the Huge Hefner - a cute name) and it was just OK. There was nothing wrong, but there are better burgers to be had in the area. The chocolate shake was good - perhaps this is more of a custard joint than a restaurant. We'll try it again and see how it... More

“good mint shake”

I only stopped for a mint shake, which was good. I didn't try any food. Service was excellent. Value was OK. The building is kind of dumpy.

Custard is a religion in Wisconsin. It is in the pantheon of all that is sacred to Wisconsinites: Brats, The Green Bay Packers, deer hunting season, muskies, and talking about the weather. Custard? If you're looking to cut calories and watch your fat intake, do not go here and expect to find something other than ketchup. Hefner's is as close to a 50's burger joint as you'll get. I love their cheese burgers; get it with 'the works.' The burgers are huge--bigger than a splayed hand--and wont make a hole in your pocket.... More
