We have frequently eaten at Famous Dave's in Stillwater, MN in the past. So much so, that we became members of their Famous Dave's Internet Club. When our son had his birthday he was sent a gift certificate from the "club" to be used on his birthday. We decided to celebrate his birthday at the "Original Famous Dave's" near Hayward,...

We had a wonderful time at the original Famous Dave's barbeque shack! We got the giant feast for 4 and my wife noticed that I had never eaten so many ribs--her favorite --not necessarily mine until now.
The meal was served on a garbage can lid. Not sure of the history behind that? Also I couldn't find any signs that...

Food was great, made for the hungry person. I love their corn muffins and pork - pulled, on the rib, or any way they prepare it!
Famous Dave's has become a chain restaurant with close to 200 locations. This is the original location. I prefer to gauge BBQ taste/quality without sauce.
- Good Service
- Tableside Service
- BBQ was good with a variety of menu choices
- Large Portions
- Multiple Sauce Choices
- Nice Atmosphere with outdoor seating
- Great view of the lake...

We made reservations for noon and got seated almost right away and had a very nice server named Alac...we all had the buffet and noticed the extremely long and slow line...we must have been in line for almost 20 minutes and finally when we get to the food we started running into empty containers...no bacon...no ribs...no chicken..and we and alot...

Luke, the best waiter in Sawyer County, had recommended we come back for the fish fry. We hadn't had Friday fish fry at Famous Dave's in 3-4 years, back when it was the buffet. The new presentation is the typical Friday night fish fry ... breaded ... a fairly thick batter, but not greasy at all. And a substantial bite,...

It's a very interesting, rustic place. Son took us here when he was here for the Birki, so it was winter snow, high and dark, so missed the outdoor beauty. Staff was lite, understNDbly considering and the food was OK. We've eaten at Famous Daves's in sioux city, it was tops there.,
Fun place with great variety on the menu. The ribs are fabulous, along with all the BBQ sauce options. Get the All American BBQ Feast if you want to try out a few different meats and sides in one sitting, plus who doesn’t love eating off of a garbage can lid? Looking forward to going back in the summer and...

All show, no go. Ordered 1/2 rack of ribs. Looked great but all bone no meat. Great scenic location.
