We were with 5 adults and 1 child. The server was super friendly and knowledgeable. We started off with mama’s bread basket which was good and a platter with tomatoes, mozzarella, pesto and cracker and that was one of the best pesto’s I ever had....Our entrees were average. I had the swordfish piccata which was ok and my gf had the gnocchi which was AMAZING. One of our friends had scallops in vodka sauce which was average. For dessert we had the limoncello tiramisu which was not good but the brownie was great.More
Small family restaurant, staff was vey helpful and nice. Dishes were good, nice portions. The lemon tiramisu was very tasty and unique.
Five of us had a great meal. The service was also great, and they even had a special for their wine at half price. Highly recommended.
Fairly casual atmosphere in the outdoor section at Mama DiMatteo's this evening. Quick service, but not rushed at all. Very professional and friendly server. The owner came out to speak with customers. As for the food, on this occasion, I started with the beef skewers,...which came out about medium temp, very tasty, with a unique pepper sauce. For the entree, I went with the pan seared gnocchi with chicken, peas, and prosciutto, which was awesome. Have been going here for years, highly recommend it.More
Excellent service, food and wine! This gem is off the beaten bath (not far) and was an amazing way to end our trip to Bar Harbor. The food was delicious, fresh and vibrant. Our server was knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. Make your next meal...in BH, Mama DiMatteos!More
Brownie with blueberry icecream both maine made and super super yummy a must have if your in the Bar Harbor area.
Stumbled upon this gem in Bar Harbor. Excellent food, service and prices. Had the skillet mussels appetizer, seafood Fra Diablo and Caesar salad. House red wine is a generous pour and really quite good. This place is filled with locals, which is always a good...sign. One of the few places we saw a Happy Hour in Bar Harbor.More
Good food! Good portions! Good service! You can’t go wrong unless you want fancy overpriced food! My husband had the swordfish and I had the meatballs and focaccia bread with bean dip. All good! I hope they continue to provide good service and quality food!
This restaurant was the best. We were able to get a table quickly and our server Martha was absolutely wonderful. I had the stuffed shells with crab and spinach and it was amazing. My wife had the linguine with clam sauce and raved about it....I felt the prices were better and the food was much better quality than other places in bar harborMore
Amazing food !! I am a local and used to come here quite often but it’s been awhile. This time I had the mac and chz entree and for dinner I had the ceaser salad with Cajun chicken on top. I enjoyed both courses and...the White Russian drink was made perfectly. Happy hour from 4:30-6 so drinks were half off. The service from the bartender was outstanding and I will be back before they close on October 29th.More
Kinda hidden behind the Village Green at the end of a side street. Good find though. Service was good and fast, chicken parm was good. Full bar, place was packed.
Stumbled upon this lovely restaurant walking around the back streets of downtown Bar Harbor looking for someplace that didn’t push lobster rolls or live lobsters. Happy hour from 4:30-6:00 on drinks including top shelf liquors and wines. Crab stuffed shells and Gorgonzola steak are great.
After a busy day my friend and I love to go Mama's their food is always so yummy and their staff is super friendly. Tonight I had their gnocchi and my bestie had their fish special. Of course we couldn't leave without sharing a generous...portion of carrot cake. Hope to see you all there. I promise they won't disappoint.More
We had the Chicken Parmigiano, Gnocchi, Alfredo. The Gnocchi had so much butter & oil it made the food unedible. I ended up running back to the hotel for Pepto & the bathroom. My son's Chicken Parm was an Eggplant Parm. No bread before dinner.
