Located in downtown San Francisco. One of the best salmon meals I have eaten. It was wild pacific salmon, fresh and grilled to perfection. There was a wide assortment of fresh fish including tuna, mahi mahi, prepared your way. My husband choose a ossco bucco. Delicious and tender veal. The salad and sides were also wonderful. The service was impeccable.... More

Go early, so seating isn't an issue, (best for lunch), order the Cioppino (their signature dish) and take home what you can't finish - their Cioppino is (almost) as good cold! And take a taxi or ride the street cars - parking is the one thing that Tadich is in short supply of. Nothing at the Wharf can compare, excepting... More

I enjoyed a huge plate of seafood cioppino during a recent visit to San Francisco. It gets really crowded, but I came just after 5:30pm, so I was able to get a seat at the bar. The cioppino was quite expensive ($30+), but very good. The restaurant is quite old, the sign says it has been established in 1849. By... More

I have been visiting this resturant for the past 25 years. The food, ambience and wines bring me back as often as I can schedule my travel from Australia via SFO. You must have the salmon filets.

It's famously known as San Francisco's longest-running restaurant. Maybe it is, but it is definitely one of its best and has been for years. I've eaten lunches and dinners there since the early '60s and have never been disappointed. Sure, you pay a ton for something simple but delectable like the famed petrale sole, but you're at Tadich. The wood,... More

Yes, I know...it's the oldest continuously operating restaurant in California. The atmosphere is classic, with the dark wood walls, witty male waiters in white who've worked there for years...the turn of the century menu... I have visited twice and I think I've satisfied my interest in history and got bored with what amounted to -- and I hate to say... More

Being a big fan of Anthony Bourdain, when I visited San Francisco he had mentioned on his show the Tadich Grill as being an institution and having been operating since 1848. My friends told me to be there before 12 noon for lunch. As it's downtown and near the ferries, we walked past at 11am, not looking in thinking it's... More

I had heard many wonderful things from people that had dined at Tadich Grill. It was my turn. We were in the City for the Memorial Day Weekend and showed up for lunch on Saturday. We were greeted by some of the best staff I have ever come in to contact with. Energetic, quick witted, and exactly what my group... More

First time experience at Tadich Grill. Waiter very rude and condescending. Several of us ordered Petrale Sole per recommendation of waiter. My sole had disgusting skin on the bottom; others had no skin on their sole. Waiter said rolling his eyes some come with skin; others don't, did I want another selection. I didn't want anything else as I had... More

Hadn't been to Tadich Grill for 15 years. The waiters haven't changed, the style of service & quality still fabulous. Fun, delicious & definitely "old" SF!
