This place was the best fir lunch and located at pier 23. We sat outside watching the ships and enjoyed one of the best lunches ever with oysters in ice and clams in spicy tomato broth (which was incredible and local IPAs. Fantastic location, service and food- deserves a 5 star!!

Always freshly opened in front of you and the variety changes. Wonderful seafood chowder, grilled cheese sandwich and steamed clams!! all served with Model Bakery rolls and butter... a nice glass of champagne or beer completes a mouth watering experience. I eat at least 2 dozen with their great dipping sauce.... anytime is Hog Island Oyster time.

We loved the fresh fish, the clams, the mussels. We want to congratulate the cook for the perfect preparation of the fish. For the first time during our travel we could enjoy real good bread! We also very much appreciated the friendly service. We really recommend this place because this was the best food we eat during our trip and... More

We met up with some friends from the U.S. for lunch at Hog Island in the Ferry Terminal. It was a beautiful day and the terminal was very crowded so the wait for a seat was quite long but well worth it when we got a seat outside with a great view across the bay. The food was excellent, between... More

Hog Island Oysters has sweet, tasty oysters delivered icy cold. Sitting outside at the Ferry Building watching sail boats, freighters , and later in the evening...the Bay Bridge light up with lights vibrating up and down...all make this a complete experience.

This place was the best. We took Bart to San Francisco and walked to the restaurant which is located at pier 23, sat outside watching the ships load up with commuters, and enjoyed one of the best lunches ever.

During our recent stay in San Francisco we visited Hog Island twice for a late lunch. It is a simple formula done very well. Heaps of oysters shucked to order plus a variety of other seafood delights such as clam chowder, steamed mussels and clams and crab and lobster on the weekends. No reservations so be prepared to queue for... More

If you are visiting San Francisco and are at the base of Market Street, visit this small indoor/outdoor Oyster bar for a drink and fresh oysters (raw or cooked). The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is even better.

Located at Pier 23, this is a must to every San Francisco vacation! First, you walk through a little market mall offering great one of a kind gifts, wines & cheeses. The restaurant is located right on the Wharf overlooking the bridge and water, offering a great selection of oysters, other seafood and good beer and wine/champagne. The clam chowder... More

A great twist to a great vacation. We were in SF celebrating my wife's birthday. One of her many 39 year old birthdays!!!! Well, for her birthday, her present was for me to enjoy some great seafood, specifically oysters! I know, confusing, but that was her wish, so I had to accommodate, after all, it was her birthday:) Our server... More
