There isn't one thing that we didn't like in our 6 days and 5 nights. Just a wonderful- classy Hotel.
We stayed at the Mark Hopkins on two separate visits in Oct/Nov. The checkin process on both visits was very efficient. Room was excellent and we were upgraded to a higher floor on our second visit. On our first visit the fridge was not working but another one was provided when we contacted the front desk. Breakfast at the Top... More
The exterior is almost compelling as an landmark hotel in the City. The front desk service is outstanding. The rooms when you first open the door almost does not meet expectations as I have stayed in many amazing hotels with much nicer rooms and this was pretty basic by today's standards. As the days went by though, I found it... More
The mark Hopkins is located on California Street is San Francisco near the Fairmount Hotel. Fortunately there are two cable car lines which pass by close to the hotel. Excellent clean and quiet rooms with great views from the Top of The Mark restaurant.
Perfect location, excellent atmosphere, attention to detail. Cable car stop just around the corner makes exploring San Francisco easy. Recommended breakfast at the top of the mark for excellent views and food Would go back again and again.
hotel itself historically fascinating...ornately decorated we had corner rm w amazing view; friendly & helpful staff, good food... not close to much in way of tourist attractions, but what a way to c the city at nite...frm atop that hill.

Our room was 'upgraded' for a better view, but it was small and the second bed was a rollaway. The fog rarely cleared, so the view was a bit pointless. The rollaway was a... More
Seated at a table with an expansive view, sparkling wine with orange juice on the side was immediately served - we requested coffee as well and it too, was promptly served. Our server was not overburdened with too many tables to care for so was on top of every napkin fold, silverware change and plate clearance. We began with the... More
