Description: Sleek and modern with one foot firmly in the Old World is the feeling at Perbacco. The restaurant boasts a brick wall original to the historic 1913 Hind building, with other touches such as a bar top and floor tiles made from white Carrara marble. With 16 seats at the bar and 7 more intimate tables, Perbacco creates an atmosphere for a glass of wine or a light bite. Perbacco also features 2 dining rooms, one on the main floor and a smaller one on the Mezzanine, which has the added allure of serving as "theater", with windows to watch all the action in the kitchen below. Chef Staffan Terje strives to cook the finest food reflecting the Italian regions of Piemonte and Liguria. Handcrafted, house-made salami, prosciutto and other meats are featured at the salumi bar. Filled pastas, a tradition in Piemonte, range from the traditional ravioli to the more exotic agnolotti. Main courses feature traditional dishes such as Bollito Misto and milk-braised pork shoulder with Savoy cabbage.

Found Perbacco just walking around, and glad I did. The food and service were great. Order the salumi platter - it's home made and incredible. I had Halibut for my main course which was also very good. Our entire group really enjoyed the food and the service with a smile.

Imagination and slow food combine in this orgy of the delectable in downtown SF. Friendly, efficient service and italian-influenced dishes that are original, tasty and well-priced.

Went here for lunch today with my wife. We had an appetizer, mains, and a side. Also a few glasses of wine each. We had very high expectations, which may be part of the issue. The good was quite good. Very good for the most part. Just not amazing. As visitors to SF, we would certainly try something else before... More

This restaurant was a great choice for a romatic upscale italian dinner. Wine list is extensive and has wine at every price point. We had a dish of gnocchi which was one of the best I have had. The duck dish was perfectly cooked. A great meal and service was attentive without being over the top.

With a great wine list that is reasonably priced for San Francisco, outstanding food and service, Perbacco will surprise and delight you and your guests. Four of us enjoyed cocktails, a wonderfully paced meal with starters, salads, pastas and main dishes (plus dessert to share) with two high-end bottles of wine for under $400. All in an upscale environment with... More

Just in the best case average Italian food. We were couple and none of us really enjoyed the food. It wasn't bed, just like a fast food restaurant quality. Would not recommend my friend to go there unless they are hungry and in the neighborhood.

Perbacco has been in business for a few years and is not in danger of loosing its' touch. The kitchen turns out one amazing dish after another. We choose to order more smaller dishes so we could try more things because they all sounded so good. The waiter was friendly and helpful in navigating the menu toward our tastes and... More

My husband made reservations in advance so we could start the first night of our Honeymoon in style; unfortunately I don't think it lived up to some of the reviews we read. We were lucky to get a table in the corner some had some privacy (although the conversations of those next to us were clearly audible even over the... More

I love Perbacco for so many reasons-the space is comfortable, lighting is pleasant, acoutics perfect for enjoying conversation, service is excellent, real tasty cocktails plus a great wine list and of course the food is both pretty and delicious. Perbacco is also an amazingly great value and I appreciate the option of smaller portions which still are enough to share... More
