The two brothers that own Ichiban are brilliant. The run a tight ship and the sushi, etc., is always top notch. Inside is small, but gives it that feeling of how in demand the place really is. It is a must stop.

This is excellent sushi at the area's most reasonable price for the quality. Our family indulges at least twice a month; however the small restaurant can get cramped at peak times. The good-humored hospitable service is unfailing. There is always a long list of creative maki, rolls, to choose from, but if ordering takeout, the online menu will offer a... More

Very small, but cozy sushi place in downtown McLean. Not quite on a par with Tachibana, but the fish is fresh and nicely portioned. Having a choice of brown rice is anice touch. There are some interesting rolls, although you need help from your server to sort out what's in manyof them. The service is friendly. Overall, it's a solid,... More

The sushi is phenomenal for the money you pay; it is reasonably priced and yummy. It's a bit of a smaller place but it gives the environment more intimacy. The servers are helpful and polite. The only negative is they don't serve a lot of "hot food" it is mostly sushi and rolls. I loved it and reccommend it to... More

We always stop by when we are in the area. This is a family run business and the quality is always good, the sushi is fresh and the service is friendly. The owners are usually behind the sushi bar, register or waiting on tables. The place seats about 50-60 people and is usually crowded at prime time (7-8pm). The tables... More

This wonderfully friendly and unpretentious place feels like a real neighborhood restaurant in Japan. The food is very fresh and always good. Some of the items on the menu, like the larger rolls with sauce, seem like an attempt to cater a bit too much to American tastes, but the more traditional selections are great. I definitely think Ichiban is... More

I've been a regular here for many years. If you live in the area, you'll always run into someone you know. The atmosphere is casual, the food is good and very fresh (which is most important since it is raw), and the staff is responsive and friendly. This was my daughter's all-time favorite restaurant and she has to stop in... More
