This place is a little hidden and no indoor seating but the food is great and when the weather is good there is outdoor seating or the water front is right accross the street.

The brisket sandwich was good in terms of flavor, but if you spend $9 on a sandwich, you would expect to leave full...perhaps, it was an off day, but there was very little meat. There were 2 people working, Larry J taking orders and a single other employee making the food. This is a take-out joint where you stand and... More

We orderd take out, and it was very good. We had 2 full slabs of ribs, very meaty and delicious! The extra sauce was sweet, yet had a smoky flavor. We also got some of Larry's "hot sauce"...nice and spicy, good kick to it! We also got a quart each of pulled pork and brisket. The pulled pork was one... More

Larry J's is a favorite of my family and friends. Every time we go we try something new, but we always make sure to get some burnt ends!!!! I used to live in Kansas City and I have eaten plenty of amazing BBQ but Larry J's is on the top of my list!! Love the location, friendly staff, Larry J... More

I walked in and thought I was in Texas, very cute place. The brisket sandwich (of which I am an expert, by the way) was very fatty. I mean I was cutting off the fat with a knife, which reduced the size of my sandwich by one half. The owner came out and asked how the lunch was. I told... More

Yesterday I took a trip across the Tobin Bridge to Chelsea prompted by an earlier visit by my wife to larry j's place. We ordered the burnt ends and a side. The meat was beautifully cooked, and the sauce was a great complement to the flavor of the rub. The portion, which may have looked a bit small due to... More

Ate at Larry J's House of Q tonight. Cannot recommend this place enough. Wonderful owners, huge portions, great food. Aside from the fantastic meat, who would have thought you could get awesome grilled VEGGIES at a BBQ place. And the mac & cheese is soooooooo good. Go to Larry J's, you won't be disappointed!!!!

Let's face it: New England isn't really known for its barbecue. We have so many terrific niches in the cuisine world, but we've been stuck eating sub-par ribs slathered in meh sauce for year. Larry J's is changing that. I ate here at 7pm last night. It's now 10am. I just tried to run 10 miles, but I'm so full,... More
