My experience at Grover's BBQ has been hit and miss. Sometimes the food is pretty good, and other times it is just okay. It's a shame because it has been in Topeka for a long time and at one time there was a second location where the food was always good. Anyway it's a good place for lunch if you... More

I love the Grover turkey sandwich. It is the best smoked turkey around. The French fries are great too, ask for extra crispy. An unexpected surprise are the rib tips...you've got to try them. I love all bar b que, but this is really good. I ask for my sauce on the side so I can control the amount and... More

Burnt ends are great. Ambience is forgettable, Staff are brusque, but efficient. Many of my friends go there for sandwiches at lunch, and never seem to be disappointed. Nice sized helpings

A topeka food joint that has not changed since I first tried it in 1990. Rib tip special, or the brisket is always a good choice. You know your close when you can smelll the burning firewood a couple blocks away. Even with ownership change recently, the flavor remains the same. Fairly fast service and portions will not disappoint. Grover's... More

The brisket lacked any smokey flavor, and was dry. The sauce had a strange flavor in it. The ham was fairly good and had a nice smoky flavor.

I'm always suspicious of a place that says they serve BBQ, yet has no smokestack or woodpile. I gave them a try anyway, the place was dirty, prices were reasonable but food was horrible. The brisket was dry and had no smoke flavor, tasted like gas (see above), side dishes looked and tasted like they came from Costco or Rieser's.

They've been there a long time, had several owners but continue to offer good food. Most people love Grovers.

I went to Grover's once, some time ago. The food was average, you'll do much better at Topeka's Boss Hawgs, but aside from Grover's food, the large Confederate flag displayed proudly in the kitchen made me vow never to walk in the door again. I find that symbol generally offensive, but particularly in Kansas where people fought and died to... More

Portion size is decent, recently changed hands haven't really determined if the new owners have it all down pat or not... Try it you might like it!
