This place is amazing! Good for a celebration or just when you want a decadent dessert. Choices vary daily but you can always find something you'll like.
On recent visit to San Diego Extraordinary Desserts was recommended to us several times. We decided to stop on our way out of town to get desserts to share with our adult children. We chose five beautiful desserts. Three hours later we opened the boxes and the five of us tasted each item. We thought two of the desserts were... More
Extraordinary Deserts was recommended by our hotel for "a really good desert". We arrived early on a Sunday evening with no expectations, having never heard about this Dessert Specialty restaurant on our many travels to San Diego. When you go, plan to have an "Extraordinary Desert", but also plan to have difficult choices and plan to give in to desire.... More
I've only been here twice in the past 5 years - but both times the dessert was the best ever! This time, the desserts were presented more beautifully than ever. I knew to go during the off hours, so there was not a wait. I wish they would display the desserts differently because they are somewhat separated from each other.... More
My brother lives in San Diego so every time we go there he twists my arm and forces me to go decadent. I'm glad Karen Krasne (award winning chef) didn't open a branch in Palm Beach (where we live) or I would be there often. I have had dessert and coffee here about 4 times now, always fresh and inviting.... More

The line was long, but the desserts looked very promising (the presentation was excellent). But what a huge disappointment and waste of time and money, especially since we... More
Hillcrest is one of my fave neighborhoods and my best friend and I were craving sweets after lunch. This place is amazing. It was dessert overload and I couldn't concentrate looking at all those decadent creations. So instead of sharing, we both got different cakes and had a mini-tasting. I had the tiramisu inspired cake and she had some chocolate... More
Dropped by after dinner in Little Italy to get a dessert to go. Got a triple chocolate cookie and a cheesecake brownie. The cookie was a bit hard and dry but great flavor. The brownie was deliciously amazing. So rich it gave me an insulin headache.
The specific dessert we ordered was not too good (some white thing made purely of sugar), but their coffee was really good. Displays of cakes in the front is amazing.
We stopped by Extraordinary Desserts after having dinner in a local place. The wait was about 20 minuets which was frustrating but well wort it in the end! After being seated it was a very robust atmosphere with soft music in the background. We started with the lemonade infused with rose leafs which i highly recommend! After that a triple... More
