I love this place. They have this Sashimi sampler platter that is to die for. If your new to the world of sushi, don't pass up on the sea eel sashimi, its excellent. 5 out of 5

In a small nondescript strip mall, surprised to find such quality. Lovely decor, excellent food, decent service. The person I sat next to mentioned she travels miles just to come there, because it's the best around. And they obviously have a local following.
If you LOVE sushi...REAL sushi this is it!! You won't find California rolls here (nor should you) this is an authentic experience. Sashimi is so tender. The hospitality second to none. You don't have to ask for fresh wasabi here, it's on your plate. If you are unsure about what a dish is, the staff is helpful. It's well priced...

A couple of weeks back, I made a reservation for my birthday for 7 people. I found out a few days later that more people would be joining us, so I called and asked to increase the reservation to 12. Without skipping a beat, Keiko (I believe her name was) said that it is not possible to increase a reservation...

Even though we made a reservation, they had a hard time finding it. When they finally found it, we were seated at the Sushi Bar. Derek made the best sushi in a lifetime and we had a nice chat with him as well. Worth the trip
Coming from Tucson, it's hard to know good sushi. I'd like to think I've had the best San Diego has to offer, because I can't imagine it getting better! For Sushi lovers this place is great !!! WE were visiting the San Diego area and friends bought us here and we loved it !!! The tuna roll was delish along with the Salmon roll. We had a enjoyable dinner and left satisfy !!!
This is a hole in the wall place that does not appreciate its customers. The servers were rude and we had to wait almost two hours for a seat. The food is not worth the drama. They need better management.
My husband and I showed up to Sushi Ota straight from the airport in the middle of the lunch rush with no reservation. They didn't have any tables available but we were able to sit at the sushi bar immediately. The sushi chefs were a joy to watch while they worked and were very sweet and interactive. My husband got...

I eat a lot of sushi and sashimi. Being on the west coast, I also get a lot of really fresh fish - wild salmon, tuna. But typically, most of the other raw fish is just okay. I would say that Ota is one of the top 10 sushi experiences I've had. All the fish was exceptional - including the...
