I live near this establishment and have passed it numerous times over the past 25 years. Yesterday I decided to have dinner there with my brother. We ordered from the specials menu and were treated to a palate pleasing experience. We had Poisson Soup which was a lobster/shrimp bisque with Gruyère, croutons. We had a duck, pork, and sausage Confit... More

This was my first visit to Quatorze Bis as it was chosen by very well heeled friends. I'm not complaining about their choice as the food preparation was excellent and the service could not have been better. However, at $17.50 for a simple Bellini at brunch, I'll have to think a while before I return to this establishement.

A lovely looking place, I found the food to be good, but overpriced. It has been in the area for many years and has garnered a reputation as an excellent restaurant in the area. While I would recommend it, be prepared to spend a little more than you would normally spend for what you get.

I went to Quatorze about 20 years ago when it was on 14th St. I lost track of it and was delighted when friends suggested we meet here on our recent visit to NYC. The six of us had a great meal in a warm and friendly restaurant. Almost better than Paris! UES ambience and diners, including a Bloomberg table... More

We four had reservations on a recent Saturday evening and were seated promptly. The place was packed. The chicory salad appetizer with lordons was superb. Pea soup came with croutons, also very good. I had the sauteed trout with rice and every forkful was delicious. My wife and her friend had chicken which they reported was also delicious. My friend... More

Easily recognizable facade in beautiful lacquer red and yellow awning with a few always busy cafe outdoors tables to see the world go by...it could be anywhere in France !. Well located, very attractive decor and excellent food. The interior is rather small, crowded with smallish tables close to each other making it hard for a romantic or business conversation. Beautifully decorated... More

If you are looking for a little bit of Paris in NYC, try Quatorze. The food is wonderful, the service is first class, the cost is reasonable, and it is the kind of charming, small, bistro that fits as easily in Saint Germain des Pres as on the upper east side. No wonder we locals would prefer to preserve it... More

Attractive French Restaurant with excellent food. Feels like you're in a real French bistro, with both their regular menu, and the daily specials. Wonderful appetizers including their saucisson chaud, celeri remoulade, and seasonal entrees including the best Cassoulet we've had in NYC. The pommes frites are especially good, and there are reasonably-priced wines, too.

A local favorite, we have the found the food to be very good. Been there several times always accompanied by folks who have eaten there perhaps 30 times. They are even choosier than ,I so I know its consistent. My wife said it's the only place she would eat liver. Very tasty. My Beef Bourg. was very good. Their onion... More

The place is very pretty - nice upscale bistro. Menu is basic French fare, but tasty. I ordered a skirt steak from the specials - medium rare - done very well. My wife had the roasted half chicken which was very juicy. The only downside is that everything is served with pommes frites and they don't say that on the... More
