Description: The word is out: Marlon Abela, the restaurateur behind London's Michelin one-star with two-stars rising Greenhouse, has opened a new modern Italian restaurant A Voce ("word of mouth") on the edge of chic Madison Square Park. The emphasis is on grown-up, deeply delicious Italian cookery set against a back drop of Italian style and organic East Coast elements.

I'm not a sophisticated foodie, but I know good food when I taste it. I enjoyed sitting outside on a beautiful evening and visiting with my son. The evening was a success but not because of the food. I started with a simple salad of arugala that had a very stong lemony dressing that was just too bitter. My pasta... More

Since its opening I've been to A Voce many times - the Madison ave location as well as the Columbus circle/time Warner location. The food is outstanding. Service is good as well. The Madison Avenue location does draw business groups not only at lunch but at dinner. Columbus circle location has views of the park. Decor leans toward modern. There... More

Just dined at the Madison Avenue A Voce this evening. Very pleasant outdoor table setting on a side street in the 20's, lots of patrons and attentive staff. Very few patrons were seated inside, but the restaurant looked quite stylish. My daughter and I each had an appetizer, her broccoli rabe was so lemony that we couldn't eat it. I... More

Had a businessperson's lunch here and picked the joint chiefly because it was across the street from the client. But the food is delicious - real Italian pasta and service is just so. Agnollotti are just so. Would be a nice spot to sit outside, too, when weather permits. I should mention that lunch for two, while top of the... More

Had dinner here during a trip to NYC with family. Food was very good. Ambience was nothing special. Nice views of Central Park.

I have a real fondness for Italian food, and this upscale Manhattan restaurant is excellent in all respects. The service is attentive w/o being intrusive and very responsive to each and every request. We enjoyed a number of delicious pasta entrees, but the highlight was the roast suckling pig. Tender, delicious and served nicely.

We made reservations as it was our anniversary and were given an excellent table. We did come early though (for dinner) as we had symphony tickets. The food was very good and we were not disappointed, the wine list was decent but the cocktails were very nice. At the start of the meal we had attentive and courteous waitstaff but... More

This is a splendid restaurant for a special night out. Great service and food, could make a special romantic evening. Most importantly, the atmosphere is lively, but not loud, so you can have that special conversation.

The menu needs some interpretation. It's hard to figure out what the main dishes are and which ones are good for sharing. Service was good but could be better if they focused on providing a bit more personal attention...but then again this is New York and that is sometimes a lost art in the East Coast. The food was very... More

Second time here. Specialty drinks are very unique and yummy. Service is excellent! I'm not one to read menus, I usually ask the server to recommend the best/signature dish from the menu and my server was spot on! Ricotta spread for appetizer is a must! The hot pepper infused tequila makes for a great drink! Pork chop main entree was... More
