I lived in Mammoth Lakes and was a server & bartender for 20 years. This is the only place I'd go on a precious night off having had a full and part time job. I'm so picky about service and quality this is the only place in Mammoth Lakes I can enjoy fully and just relax. I'm an executive in... More

This is a great restaurant. The menu is fabulous. Order an all time classic or order a prime rib of elk, or another game entre! You will be impressed. The ambiance here can't be beat. It's quiet, cozy, with a round fireplace in the center of the dining room. Any of the many window seats offer views of deer browsing... More

The menu was varied and unique. The service was outstanding. The meal was even better. I had the trout which I was told was fresh that day and it looked like it. It tasted fabulous. The warm loafs of sour dough bread were addicting. I will make it a point to go to dinner here every time I am in... More

We've been coming here for decades, and it remains one of the best dining options in the Mammoth Lakes area. While it is a short drive down 395, it is certainly worth the trip. The service and food are both great. There is also the chance of spotting some wildlife on the drive up to the restaurant.

Beautiful place, and the service was great! However, it's important to understand that if more than half the menu is beef, that's probably their specialty. The sirloin was perfect. But avoid the pasta or let the kids order it. Mt ravioli was mush covered with an odd sour tomato cream sauce. That said, they were out of trout, but I... More

A surprise in this isolated lake resort - a 5 star restaurant with super service, including flaming tableside preparation. There is a small bar area and casual dining rooms in a lovely pine setting a short walk from scenic Convict Lake. A great romantic dinner place. There are often at least 5 -7 special entrees, including prime rib, venizon, trout,... More

I love this restaurant's location and atmosphere -- hard to beat. It has good food, but it is truly nothing exceptional. Osso bucco is better at other restaurants and the escargot is too dry. However, it is good, just not exceptional at all.

I've dined at the finest in NYC, Chicago, LA...and this still ranks #1 with me. Food is consistently very good, decor is welcoming (love the fireplace room), service is respectable, and environs are most spectacular. None of the above are "best in class".... but the sum of it all outranks them all. It's always a pleasure to experience this restaurant.... More

The resort had not informed us about needing a reservation, so upon arrival we were seated in a corner w/ little attention. The food was good and the server was very sweet. She was the only server and seemed like she could have used some help, based on the slow service. Very romantic setting.
