Dobbin House Tavern in the Downstairs has a Great Atmosphere, staff in period costume, and the food it Terrific. A Quaint Gift shop on the Main Level, and lots of History.

Our meal was very good. I had the crab ala Dobbin - melts in your mouth! Service was very good. Dining area is crowded.

Lunch time in May, no problem getting a table without reservations in the Cellar (downstairs, the casual dining area). When you walk down into the tavern, it feels you are stepping back in time. It is a small tavern and can get very busy, but we hit at the right time and it was wonderful. Historic. Legendary. Super settings both Pub-like and fine dining. How they handle the volume (and always with a smile) of locals and visitors continues to astound.

Went here last year, second time here when in Gettysburg. A little on the pricey side, but a great historic place to see. Must eat in the basement to get the real feel of the time.

They pack people in side-by-side, nearly shoulder-to-shoulder. The candlelight was atmospheric, I guess. But it was so dark, I had trouble reading the menu. The food was just ok.
