We were really looking forward to dining here as on previous visits the food was excellent but this trip was a huge disappointment. Our server was personable and did her best but the service was slow and the food mediocre at best. Two busloads of students were leaving when we arrived so this may have contributed to the kitchen issues... More

Dobbin House Tavern in the Downstairs has a Great Atmosphere, staff in period costume, and the food it Terrific. A Quaint Gift shop on the Main Level, and lots of History.

Our meal was very good. I had the crab ala Dobbin - melts in your mouth! Service was very good. Dining area is crowded.

Lunch time in May, no problem getting a table without reservations in the Cellar (downstairs, the casual dining area). This was a lot of fun for the family, and we enjoyed very good food and excellent service. No windows downstairs, so if stone walls give you a little chill, best to bring a sweater to throw on or light jacket.... More

When you walk down into the tavern, it feels you are stepping back in time. It is a small tavern and can get very busy, but we hit at the right time and it was wonderful. Food was excellent, service attentive and the atmosphere beautiful and enchanting. The only thing they need food wise is some type of homemade fries.... More

Historic. Legendary. Super settings both Pub-like and fine dining. How they handle the volume (and always with a smile) of locals and visitors continues to astound.

Went here last year, second time here when in Gettysburg. A little on the pricey side, but a great historic place to see. Must eat in the basement to get the real feel of the time.

They pack people in side-by-side, nearly shoulder-to-shoulder. The candlelight was atmospheric, I guess. But it was so dark, I had trouble reading the menu. The food was just ok. We failed to see what all the is about. Someone somewhere we read compared this to Olde Pink House in Savannah. Not. Even. Close. Dobbin House might be fun for families... More

My husband and I celebrated Mother's Day at Dobbin House in Gettysburg. We had a very delicious dinner with champagne. Although the restaurant was busy, we got served in a timely manner and the food arrived hot. We had asked the our server to hold off on the dessert for a little while. We were having a nice time and... More

If you visit Gettysburg as a tourist and wish to experience the old Colonial lifestyle, then this is the place for you. However, if we lived a little closer then we would probably visit frequently. The ambience was great and the service very pleasant and helpful. The food was super, with a bread basket and salad included in your main... More
