Have been here several times - it's a nice spot in Fort Greene to meet someone for lunch/brunch. Love the merguez sandwich.

We live down the block and go to Chez Oskar for brunch, for dinner, to meet friends or when one of us or alone. Delicious food, good service, cozy place.

This place is small and crowded but has a nice vibe, and the food is simple but excellent. It is a French restaurant, and the food is French with none of the pretention that the label usually carries in the US. We live in Switzerland near the French border, and what we got here is very close to what we... More

Dined with friends while visiting Brooklyn, just a few blocks away, on a Sunday evening. Seated right away and received excellent service and attention during the evening. Risotto with scallops was a special ordered by four of our party of six. Very good. My two grandsons ordered the hanger steak, both medium well. One was received medium to medium rare... More

You want to like Chez Oskar when you first walk in, as it has all the hallmarks of a good restaurant - moody lighting, funky, but harmonized decor. But the service is just so, so terrible that you never want to go back. When my party of four first arrived, there were only two tables with diners: one was just... More

I am a Brooklyn resident and went to this place Saturday night for a bite to eat after attending the Afro Punk Festival. We waited nearly 10 minutes to get seated. After that we received menus and no one paid any attention to us for the next 20 minutes. They did not even fill our glasses with water. There were... More

The decor is so funky and cool. The best bloody mary around and their mussels aren't too shabby either. I recommend the mussels with a side of fries and a cocktail, I am confident they're all good!

Looked forward to trying this place. Had heard good things. Sat outside next to the door but getting fresh pepper for my salad or food was nigh onto impossible. I asked 3 people till finally the first one returned. Other requests went through similar hoops. Won't rush back

We have been here a couple of times. The place is always busy, but we were able to get a table every time without the wait. The hostess is very friendly. We ordered a crab cake, lobster crepe, steak tartar, tuna and salmon tartar as well as muscles with French fries. Everything was delicious. I find it rare to like... More

Stayed in Fort Greene couple of blocks from this place. There are a couple of good restaurants on Dekalb, but my favorites are Chez Oskar and Roman's. We went for brunch. Waited a couple of minutes and were finally seated at the bar. We had eggs benedict and omelet, champagne and bloody mary. Food was good. Bloody mary was ok,... More
