Always see excellent reviews in local papers and online. After not visiting for over ten years, tried it out again with our family of five. It was actually quiet and no waiting time. Cool location, atmosphere, and small details, such as menu style. But (and that's a big "but"), prices were higher than expected (esp. kid's menu) and beer was... More

Great local restaurant right on Lake Superior. Very popular and crowded. Had a bit of a wait but was worth it. We both had the inclusive dinner and the clam chowder. The salad was amazing was the fish of the day and prawns. We will be back on our next visit.

I always have the chowder here which is the best I've tried. The quality in the food is highly shown and the outside views when u sit outside is the best.

Liked: the food, the great dockside ambiance. Disliked: the service was not that attentive. I think the staff was on slow-season mode; although it was June, it was an unseasonably cold and cloudy weekday. I've heard they are extremely busy and popular on weekends and when the weather gets warmer.

My husband and I both enjoyed the all inclusive grilled fish dinner on our recent visit. I had the salmon and he had the white fish--both fresh, both flavorful and well prepared. I enjoyed their simple and beautifully presented local dishes--wild rice or pasta and salad with homemade dressings to choose from. Everything was tasty in an atmosphere that was... More

The Angry Trout was recommended to us before our trip. It certainly lived up to its name. The fish sandwich I had was top notch and the location on Lake Superior can't be beat.

The chef salad with smoked fish was fantastic! Great views of the harbor and wonderful organic, sustainable selection!

We have been to the Angry Trout several times recently and it is definitely over-rated on Trip Advisor. If you are looking for a really quaint restaurant with average to poor food, this is it. It's all about cool local stuff (napkins, wood-work, tables, etc) and I'll give the owners they did well with that, but the food is nothing... More

Located right on Lake Superior and the restaurant has been updated with an addition. Furniture has a Scandinavian flair with food and furnishings local led grown and made.

The Angry Trout Cafe is a one of a kind place! Staff are always friendly! I have food allergies and they are always very accommodating! The food is so tasty and healthy! The atmosphere is wonderful from the beautiful craftwork around to the view of Lake Superior! Next time I visit, I'm buying their cookbook! Highly recommend eating there!
