Great service, beautiful location and food is outstanding. Great value and. Historical building. This place has it all.
Great atmosphere and view of the harbor. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was delicious and the best value of all venues dined at in our week holiday of the big Island of Hawaii. We had lunch for four for under $100.00 including two beer. This would be a nice place to come for dinner and watch the sunset, or... More
The Kona Inn is pricey, and almost worth the price. The dining area has a nice view of the harbor. The seared ahi was outstanding--the best dish we had on our trip, even at $18 for the appetizer. We went based on recommendations to have the calamari sandwich. The calamari part was generous and tasty. The bun, however, was too... More
The Kona Inn in Kailua-Kona has the atmosphere of an "old boys club" from the 20s or 30s - one imagines Traders, Ship's Captains and Captains of Industry here with brandy and cigars. There's no smoking now of course, but the ceiling fans still operate on pulleys, dating back to the 1930s. It's off Ali'i Drive in the downtown shopping... More
The Kona Inn is one of the best restaurants on the Big Island. In the Bay and facing directly west, sunsets as good as they get. Add to this a great menu and a staff with Herbert as a member makes dinner a delight. We suggest adding a couple drops of Sherry to the chowder. Fish is fresh and excellent... More
We wandered in without a booking and was seated quickly. we enjoyed the chowder, then shared our mains. We had the Mahi Mahi.....yum. I ordered the scampi. Everything was very nice, and the overall evening was most enjoyable.
Our last dinner on the island. Fantastic view of the ocean. Both fish entrees were excellently prepared. Excellent service. Herbert, the server, went above and beyond to make our meal special. We loved it!
Great location but getting tired.....needs to be revitalized. Time for a change, food OK....great view of the bay.
It has the best Mai Tai's on the island, and the lunch is excellent. The pulled pork sandwich on a freshly made bun with local BBQ sauce is highly recommended. Our waiter, David, was prompt, funny & professional. A million dollar view of the ocean while dining. Don't pass it by.
We made a reservation the day before to have a upfront table to view the sunset. The service was outstanding, the food was very good, while the sunset views were excellent. We would certainly return to this restaurant.
