As buffets go, it is on the average side, but has the potential to be much better. It is overpriced for the selection given. It was still enjoyable, but I probably will not eat there again.

My husband and I ate dinner here while staying at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. The service was very good. We enjoyed our meals although my husband's order was mixed up. It was not a big deal but after we brought it to their attention we had to wait another 15 minutes for his meal to come out.... More

Just left our stay at the Wailea Beach Marriott, where we dined at Mala for breakfast twice, dinner once, plus dinner in the lounge area. Our first night we had dinner in the restaurant and had fantastic service and really enjoyed the ambiance. We shared the herb-crusted mahi mahi and a Caesar salad. The Caesar was okay, but I thought... More

We ate here our first night at the resort. While the food was very good, it was probably a bit overpriced and there weren't a ton of options (at least that I wanted). Still worth a meal if you are here for a few nights as the view is great.

We loved the original Mala Ocean Tavern in Lahaina, so we anticipated the one in Wailea would also be good. Sadly, we were disappointed. It has a nice ocean view, the drinks were OK, the service was fair, BUT: the food was just average (in fact, the salads were downright limp), and it was expensive, even by Wailea standards. Go... Our breakfast was delicious. Sure, it's a typical breakfast buffet, without many surprises, but the choices were many and all of the food seemed fresh. The view is fabulous, and you do pay for it, but when on vacation we don't mind stretching our budget to have such experiences. If we want to eat inexpensively, then we stay home, right?... More

Sign for the restaurant is on a parking structure. Take a ticket, go enjoy a meal right? Not exactly, had the lamb chops which were good, the drinks were good but the server was average at best, the hostess was by herself and overwhelmed and the prices, even by HI standards are high. If you do try this place out... More

Unfortunately most Marriott's just can't deliver when it comes to their restaurants on the property. Mala is no different. Mediocre food, not the freshest and service average. It always surprises me though how Marriott seems to THINK they are in a class with the other Resort restaurants according to their prices.

My wife and I tried this place on our mini vacation to Maui in March. About the only thing it had going that night was a beautiful view of the sunset. My wife tried the Kobe burger and I had the New York Steak. While both dishes were cooked to perfection, we were surprised to find that they were so... More
