Got lucky and stumbled in to this place on a recent trip. They have plenty of beers on tap to choose from and the food is very good. Be warned though, you had better be hungry. The cheese & gravy fries are a meal by themselves, and the deliciously guilty "Piginator" will take down a normal appetite and laugh at... More

The food was great and the atmosphere very comfortable. I highly recommend it. The burgers are quite big.

Colleagues recommended the Sammy (pulled pork) sandwich. I tried it and it was good. It came with sweet potato fries (too salty). I ordered salad during my meal. It took them 10 minutes to bring it over on a slow Monday evening. Still, it had a very good assortment of veggies. Service was polite and met expectations of standard service.... More

Great spot to stop for casual drinks and appetizers. Fried fish sandwich, gravy fries -- not a lot of healthy options but they are tasty. Good beer list, great service. Just wish there were more spots to sit. It's hard to get a seat/table with more than 2-3 people.

We stopped in for an early supper. The number of draughts available was impressive, but the waitress was not knowledgeable about them, so it made it difficult to try something new. Our waitress seemed more interested in chatting with coworkers than tending the few tables that were occupied while we were there, making it difficult to get her attention when... More

We do a lot of traveling and have eaten in many Pubs in the U.S. The meat pie is the best shepherd's pie of all. The braised pork shoulder served with bubble and squeak is outstanding. Staff is pleasant and friendly. Atmosphere is comfortable and cozy.

My sister, mother, and I stumbled upon this pub after we came out from the Peabody Essex museum looking for a place to have lunch. This place was perfect - warm and cozy. The food was excellent. We all had the five onion soup (take on french onion) and I had the warm mushroom salad while my sister and mother... More

This is a cozy pub nearby to the Peabody Essex Museum. Only 1/2 block away to be exact! So if you've been on your feet for hours perusing the musuem, stop into the Old Spot. They have several different kinds of beers on tap, wines by the glass and a pretty good menu. We ended up having Buffalo Wings and... More

Had lunch here on a cold November Sunday afternoon. Nice location. Loved the cozy, warm smallness of the pub and restaurant. My daughter had a cesar salad which she said was just ok. I had a bean burger which was also just ok. Hard to enjoy a vegetarian burger out when it is the same vegetarian burger I can get... More
